Easiest way to deal with Hansickle is to put him in a remote location your opponent will have trouble/impossible to reach. If you're playing on the Starship map, just set him on top of the worker droid in the pit. There's no place for anyone to go to get next to him, assuming of course that you can legally set him up there.

unless the rebel player has boba bh or some other flight character and gets to han, then han can still shoot at people.

Umm, the Rebel player will need a character with flight to get to Carbonite, though. And there isn't that many out there, and they would have to survive the gauntlet of making it out there.

Of course, it's even worse on Geonosis.

I see no point in Proxy other then of combating B&B in a San squad or something (IE why duplicate your guy when you can get the statline of what you are facing).

It says on the card that the hansickle can't move, I don't think it could be pushed into the pit.

Pushing I don't think counts as movement (just like swap). I *will* find a way to kill him on my squad... even if it takes an AT-AT.

I think that the sheer tactical advantage you can get on your opponent could be something worth considering. Think about it a minute. I bring along that Carb and use RH as my Han. Now my opponent has a choice. Do they use a figure that can defeat Han to sit back with the Carb while the rest of his squad moves forward or does he abandon Han so he has the full force of his squad? If I am only paying 18 points to get one of the best characters there are my opponent might reconsider. I really don't know, but I think this figure will be a great piece, especially with Yuke.

I think the question was more along the line of since you choose the Han that goes with Hansickle at set up how do you factor in Hansickle's cost (which will be variable) when you build your squad?

You choose which Han you want to use, and then halve his point cost.

Yes, but you don't know what that cost you're going to be halving is going to be until you decide which version he's going to be at setup.

In one game you could choose Han, Scoundrel so Hansickle would cost 23 points. In your second game you could pick Rogue which would cost 15. Your third game you can use Rebel Hero for 18. If you're playing in a tourny how do you build the rest of your squad if you don't know ahead of time how many points you'll have left after you pay for Hansickle?

Well as of now I think all you need to so is allocate 23 points to the sickle then you can use anything. I think that ability is sweet though. Oh I'm facing Thrawn I'll play Rogue. Oh I'm facing an all shooter army I'll play Scoundrel, Oh I'm facing lots of high HP characters I'll play RH. Oh I'm facing the crappiest team ever I'll play RS Han lol.

If they're going to do it so you're wasting points if you use any Han except the most expensive version why not just make it cost half of that Han's cost in the first place?

On a side note I feel bad for the guys programming shoebox and minimanager. Getting Hansickle set up for the squadbuilding options looks like its going to be even more interesting than some of the recent rapport options were.

Right, Zack, and when I decide to send you some free money, you'll start complaining that I didn't use the right color of envelope.

Well, then just choose 1 of the Han's and simply use him for the tournament. Or if that doesn't work, just leave a certain amount of points free and be prepared to be at a point deficit if you choose a cheaper Han.

In a tournament setting, his customization ability will be rather low, since you can't just take points out of your squad. If you try to go for the 23 points to have the option of all Hans, you could very well be wasting points if you choose someone other than Scoundrel. However, I see sticking to reserving 18 for Han as the better option, as you may only waste 4 points.

If I went to a tourney with hansickle, I'd just choose one han to use in the squad, its great that han's cost gets reduced by half, custimization is more for characters for reinforcements and reserves.

First off, I thought that once your squad was set in a tourny you couldn't change it - so you would have to specifiy which Han you are bringing in, and you use that Han for the entire tourny.

Second - a good use for Speeders or Commandos on Speederbikes (I need one of those, now).

Okay someone spell out what i am missing. To me this seems almost broken. (almost) Being able to bring in Han Scoundrel for only 23 points is crazy huge! And if needed, you can use a different one. Am i missing something with how he works? All you do is set up, tap your ug next to him and boom you have a new Han of your choice. That frees up a TON of points in 150pt tourneys. If you take a lesser one and have to scrub a few points...Who cares you have a 15 pt Han RH or something.

Shaak - No double? Force powers? She has promise but if she isnt either dirt cheap or have double she is gonna suck. Need full stats on her.

Ozzel - REALLY dont like this. Depending on the cost, he could make B&B in either format huge! Do not like the impecations here.

Boba - need stats. He could be beastly.

Lots of these look like they could be good, but it will depend on the rest of the stats/costs.

the Hansickle isn't broken. It takes a turn from one of your characters, and then he sits for an entire round and does nothing. Not broken to me.
