So great news in the miller household..

Just watched the news and we are sitting in what was described as a swath where on town will get hit by 20-30 inches of snow in the next 23 hours.

Those of you in Bolivar and Joplin you get only 6 inches.

FREAKIN GREAT!!!! A whole bunch of white stang!!!! woo hoo

Just don't lose your Hoth minis in the snow.

It's already starting to snow in Oklahoma City.

With that much snow, you should just move to Canada, eh? At least you'd have free healthcare. :D

Actually, we're due to get hit by a pile of snow here too. But I'm used to it, so I like it. Good exercise, extra money for digging out people's dogsled storage areas (I think they're known as garages down south).

yeah my wife is all excited. She is freakin 5 ft 2 inches. She may get buried in a snowdrift. That will teach her.

I'm crashing at Matt's tonight and likely again tomorrow, because I'm not sure I would be able to get in and out of Chicago for class.

I have to ask. How long do you have to be married before saying things like that in the open are okay.

We're still waiting for it to get rolling up here, but it looks like SWMO is just getting hammered right now. Stay warm and stay safe, y'all.

Chicago and La Porte are currently unscathed, which is unusual given Lake Effect snow. I guess we get hammered tonight and tomorrow.

This is really going to screw up my trip to see my daughter's baptism. If Midway airport closes or cancels flights, everyone will try to get out on Friday when I'm suppossed to leave. Since I'm flying standby on my mother-in-laws free passes....yeah, you guys know the math...

Madison, WI got 6" last night. Only 12" due starting this afternoon.
Why isn't the SB in St Louis, Chicago or Cleveland?

well great we got about 1 foot last night and you can barely see because it is coming down so hard right now.

I guess the stupid weatherman finally got one right. ugghh I swept at least 8 inches of snow off the porch right by the door and before i was done there was another inch there.

Snowplow went done the street at 8 am. You cannot tell at this point he even went down the freakin street. Oh well at least we still have power.

Yeah, that's a big concern for my wife since we have a 2 month old. I'm debating just sending them to my mother-in-laws house and play the odds before anything comes in.
If noones power goes out they still have heat.
If her mom's goes out, they have a fireplace so they still have heat.
If my power goes out, I have....a gas oven and a gas heater downstairs :(

We got about 12 inches here in Brookings, SD yesterday. You just gotta love living in South Dakota. You get to enjoy winter weather 5 months out of the year and the snow doesn't melt for 4 months straight. Oh and the -20 degrees farenhiet temperature as the high of the day, doesn't suck at all. Not at all......

I know my old unit got activated in Central Indiana but nothing up here yet. One of my old buddies from that unit actually slid off the road on the way in and is stranded. A prime example of why I'm getting out. It would have made so much more sense to call in Guard unit LAST NIGHT so they could get in safely. It's not like this thing was a suprise storm.

us too. i still have to go to work but i am dropping them at my motherinlaws before i leave because she lives in town and we dont. if anyone will lose power it will be us of the 2 at least. We only got like an inch of snow, but we also got at least an inch of ice. I slid home safely thought by 12:30 this morning.

I went to the grocery store to make sure I had enough food for a few days last night. Pure insanity. Luckily, it takes quite a bit to knock out my power here (I think I've only lost it for a significant time once or twice in the 5 years I've lived here).

Still, turning my phone off tonight. No way in hell am I going to be called in to work tonight to deliver pizza in a blizzard.
