Just curious if anyone has come up with a way to do sealed events with DOTF?

Since we're getting close t o release date I'd like to have a release event at the local venue, but am not entirely sure how to handle it. I've got a couple ideas bouncing around in my head. One involves rolling for boosters the other drawing them out of the proverbial hat.

Has someone come up with a snazzier way then that?

It is quite funny that you ask that! I am actually working on finishing up the details for that RIGHT NOW. :D

I would expect to see something probably by the end of the week. It will be as simple as using a printer and some scissors. Or you could do it with dice, or....quite a few different ways. But it will work out pretty easy overall. You will need about 3 sets of DOTF per 'case' of boosters though, so roughly 1 set of DOTF for every 4 players, in order to have enough copies of the Commons to go around.

As someone who has already "packaged boosters" for a DOTF sealed....you made that sound very confusing,....

You've done this how? To my knowledge, you aren't privy to the full set list. :P

Here's how it works: There are 16 commons total in the set. Since there are 4 slots per booster for commons, then that means 48 commons total for the case. 48 divided by 16 = 3. So, each 'case' will have 3 copies of each common. Picture it as if it were real minis in boxes, maybe that will help. So, in order for every player to have 1 card for each piece in their 'booster', then you would need 3 sets of DOTF cards in order to fully represent one 'case' of minis.

Ok...that makes...a little more sense. I think we're just relying on everyone, or mostly so, having their own set of cards and only using one for duplicates.

Yep, that should work fine, and would likely be what I would recommend for people to do in general.

Somebody who wants to take a small bit of time (an hour maybe, at most), could easily take the set up I'm putting together, and create individual boosters and separate them with rubber bands or something, and use those to hand out to people.
