As awesome of an idea this book is, I find some of the choices dumb.

Why is Q for Quinlan and not for QuiGon...ya know...that guy who was actually IN a movie...

I didn't look at all the choices, but for Qui-Gon vs Quinlan:

Yes, Qui-Gon is in The Phantom Menace, and appears in a few comics after that, but other than the JEDI APPRENTICE series, he largely disappears from Star Wars lore after TPM. Vos has been a major character in the Expanded Universe (arguably one of the most often seen/used after Mara Jade). He is also mentioned by name in the third movie and recently put in his first (and likely, not last) appearance in the Clone Wars cartoon. For an audience that will likely be as familiar with the cartoon series as with the movies, Quinlan might well be a more relevant character (and is more likely to have future appearances).

Personally, I'm not sure that I agree with Quin over Qui-Gon myself, but I can see a reasonable argument.

I agree. I also would have thought that M for Mace is a much better choice than M for Mara.

Well, I'm guessing this is put together by fans, not by any official Lucasfilm license, right? If so, that'd be why. Most fans are going to gravitate to Quinlan and Mara first. Gotta make sure the kids are exposed to the EU early! :P
