Hey everyone, I'm new to the site and to the game itself. Just wondering if anyone has ever looked into making a rules conversion/modification for playing an open tabletop war without a grid?

This might require adding range limits to certain weapons and obviously would require measuring movements instead of counting tiles.

I want to play this game with large armies (1000+ point armies) on a large battlefield and don't want to be restricted by tiles or grids! Anyone else tried this or have any tips?

Depending on how big your game table is, a good rule of thumb is to follow the Saga Edition RPG ranges, which are generally between 36-48 inches. So basically if you go beyond 1 playmat you are likely to be out of range.
