I so want to get this. It's coming soon right? I heard if you preorder you get Johnson as a playable character. I wonder how it will affect Halo 3 on LIVE. Will they add the map packs to this one or will it be separate. I really hope they let you use your Halo 3 maps online.

Well its not going to change much as far as the Halo 3 multiplayer is concerned. ODST comes with a second disk that that contains the Halo 3 multiplayer and all the map packs as well as the new one, only ODST multilpayer will be firefight (which is going to be awesome)

So the expansion just adds a new format to the existing play choices on LIVE? I kind of pictured playing ODST like playing SWAT format. Are you also telling me I bought those map downloads and the expansion has them

That's not all that unusual. The same thing is going on with the new version of TFU. The Ultimate Sith Edition will also include the 3-4 other downloadable content packages that have been released over the last year. That's why I don't bother downloading those things usually. :P

Yeah ODST adds nothing to the existing Halo 3 multiplayer and I agree its pretty lame that ODST comes with all the maps because i too have already bought them all except the newest one that comes out with ODST

I dunno. Guess I look at it a little different. HALO is one of the only games I would consider purchasing for full value, much less pre-order to have it first day, so I like having the extra maps on the disc (even though I already bought them months ago) if for any reason just to help justify the cost of the game. Also, if it makes it so that I can free up some hard drive space cause now I can play HALO 3 live with the ODST disc then that is all the better. Not that I have an issue with my hard drive being full, but it is still a nice option.

I finally sat down to watch the live-action trailer for this last night.....HOLY CRAP!

I don't understand why Microsoft doesn't just get off their butts and make the full length movie. They could pay the $100 million themselves and be guaranteed to at least break even on it. This thing is a nobrainer IMO.

Actually, there are 3 new exclusive maps that come with ODST for Halo 3 multiplayer. Heretic, Citadel and Longshore.

Check it out here and scroll down-

Oh cool, new maps :) So when you say it adds nothing to the LIVE experience they are not even going to have a new format for it? I wonder if we can edit our online avatars to look like grunts along with the master chief and elite.
