I saw them live so many times opening w/Thursday way back in the day. Pretty good band live. I never bought their albums so I don't really know what they're all about.

MC Chris: nerd rap, he has a few good songs, you don't even need to buy an album, just use google

Basshunter: decent stuff, if you like synth and techno-like music, he's Swedish, but that doesn't matter half of his songs are in English. Again, nerd techno

I also second the Madina Lake suggestion, it's good to find a semi-mainstream band that doesn't have a singer that sings really high.

Favourite band is AC/DC. Most listened to band at the moment is LORDI, I saw them live 12 months ago and am waiting for them to tour my area again.

Others; Alice Cooper (current Tour is fantastic), Motorhead (supported Alice Cooper - were LOUD!), Joan Jett (also supported Alice, new stuff is very good), Iron Maiden, GnR, Ozzy, Madonna (not her recent stuff), Pink (the Try This album), Kiss, Queen, Billy Idol.

Silly stuff; MC Chris, Wierd Al, Wurzels.

I saw MC Chris in Austin, that little guy is awesome. After the show everyone went to go watch a speical screening of Cloak and Dagger at the Alamo Drafthouse theater (Cloak and Dagger was filmed entirely in San Antonio, my home town :D , complete with all the great landmarks and such back in 83 or so) it was great. MC Chris had a little game where everytime a certian character from the movie came out we cheered and another we booed, and everytime the father in the movie hugged the kid from ET we all went "Ewwwww".

Another thing I forgot to mention, MC Chris took all his CDs off of Amazon, he doesn't want anyone to have to pay for them, just download them for free. Unless you go to a show then he's like yeah go over to the merch booth and buy a CD, but don't forget to tip (I forget the merch dudes name), "he's sitting over there playing the same ******* DS game, screw this animal crossing!". How could I forget Weird Al?

He's hands down the best parody artists out there, of course, it's not a very competitive field.

So....I just sold dippin dots at a Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert :) It was nice to get paid to listen to them. It's cold so we hardly sold anything, so most of the time I could just sit and listen. They are amazing. 8)

so for my 27th birthday I got a gift, kinda.. I was at my friends house and she had a nice acoustic guitar lying around so I was like "hey do you play" and she's like "nah that belongs to an ex-boyfriend from like years ago, he just left it here, you can have it but its probably covered in cat piss" and i'm like "sweet, hello birthday gift". So after cleaning it really good and re stringing it it plays like new, atleast compared to my old acoustic guitar, and its black and that's like one of my fave colors so everyone wins. it still kinda smells thought even after a very through cleaning so I've dubbed the guitar "Cat Piss" untill I can come up with a more proper name for it. The previous owner engraved a Metallica skull on to it which is kind annoying so I'll have to find something to cover that up. Anyways.. let the good times roll

I'm going to throw an odd one out here since there's a good bunch of us in late 20's or beyond. Check out Gaslight Anthem. They're got a Springsteen/Dylan quality that is pretty chill. I enjoy the down to earth lyrics and strong choruses. They've been geting quite a bit of hype the last 6 months on the indie "scene".

I can't be angry 24 hours a day....

My music tastes alternate a lot, lol. Never into rap/R&B/country/folk, but usually a mixture of pop, punk, rock, oldies, etc. Right now I'm really into Paramore (thinking of seeing them in Dayton next month)...

I just saw the Mars Volta in Austin last night, they put on a great show but I hated the venue. Definately a band worth checking out live but I find that most people either love or hate them. Thier drummer though is probably the greatest drummer around right now, the man is sick. Anyways next month Iron Maiden, atleast I'll get to chill in a seat and enjoy that one.

Mars Volta is alright, but the messy breakup of ATDI kept me from giving them or Sparta a real chance. When ATDI died I left their legacy intact on my record collection :jawa:
