Sparta is boring, IMO. I never really got into ATDI honestly though.

New Thrice is good....Alchemy Index Part III-IV. They've grown quite a bit since being on the edge of rock/metal/punk in the late 90s. The Air disk is beautiful work even if they've got some weird ideas for lyrics. Their continuation of the Icarus story is great though. I've been kinda stuck more on the Air disk more than the earth disk, but a couple of other people seem to like the stripped down sound of Earth as well.

Great band to see live too; even though they've calmed down a lot they still rock in concert.

I've got a bunch of bands in common with you there. I was never edge, but as a big Earth Crisis fan I was curious if you are. They were pretty militant about it......but they rock.

haha! yeah, i'm still edge...i guess it wasn't just a high school thing for me :)

i wouldn't say they were militant, just proud, and they spoke about what they believe in

yeah, i saw some of your previous posts too, we have some musical commonalities (is that even a word?)

Much respect for your choice. :)

It's always good to see the positive changes can be permanent.

I listen, to the classics.

Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Hendrix, Metallica, Sabbath, Pearl Jam, Deep Purple, and the like.

If anyone here hasn't heard those, I'll have to disown you.

Good Christian rock: Casting Crowns, Plus One, Jeremy Camp.

Hmm... I do listen to these, and bracketed are my favorite songs (but not all that I listen to) from each :)

- Simon & Garfunkel (The Sound of Silence, Bridge Over Troubled Water)
- ABBA (Knowing Me Knowing You, The Winner Takes It All)
- The Carpenters (Only Yesterday)
- John Denver (Annie's Song, Take Me Home Country Roads)
- Kitaro (Matsuri)
- Bryan Adams (Summer of '69, Here I Am, Finally Found Someone)
- Green Day (Boulevard of Broken Dreams)
- Simple Plan (Perfect)
- Aerosmith (I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing)
- Michael Jackson (Smooth Criminal)
- My Chemical Romance (Welcome To the Black Parade)
- Bon Jovi (Who Says You Can't Go Home, It's My Life, Thank You For Loving Me)
- Starship (We Built This City)
- Michael Learns To Rock (Sleeping Child)
- Village People (YMCA, Can't Stop The Music)
- Andrea Bocelli (Because We Believe)
- Utada Hikaru (Sanctuary, Simple and Clean)
- Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy Music)

And of course, this is just the tip of my musical iceberg... Over the last three years or so, I have slowly amassed a collection of about 200 songs from more than a hundred artistes :D

I don't exactly listen to one particular genre/artiste... I just collect songs that make me feel good, and so I have pretty much music for all occasions in my archives ^^

My Top 5: Paramore, Fall Out Boy, blink-182, Snow Patrol, Something Corporate/Jack's Mannequin (lumping them together since both are pretty much the same due to Andrew McMahon being such a badass song writer).

Right now I'm focused on Paramore cause in a little over a month I'm seeing them in concert (I scored pit seats!)

Everything Goes Numb by Streetlight Manifesto - This album is one of my favorite albums of all time, great lyrics, great sound, just a great album altogether.

Hypnotize by System Of A Down - I know a lot of people don't like 'em, but i think they have a pretty unique sound, a sound which i haven't heard in any other band since.

Cool To Be You by The Descendents - I love these guys because the songs apply to me, i'm a huge nerd, and so is Milo, the singer and lyricist.

mc chris is Dead by mc chris - many people i know hate this guy, personally, i love him. he is a huge nerd, and raps about stuff i care about. Plus, he is just a great guy, just this past year he's raised about 50K for cystic fibrosis research.

I saw MC Chris live a couple of years ago in Austin it was awesome. He puts on a really fun show, and afterwards we all went to go see a Cloak & Dagger at the Alamo Drafthouse, MC Chris was hosting the screening of the film, it's a great campy 80's flick filmed entirely in San Antonio (represent!)
