Later ya, we will all most likely be baned but.....it will be fun and where all in luck that the wizo's don't know how to ip ban\ Myst is a dude?????

Hi, this is Myst. My shift is over, so I'm OOU now.
Anyways, the first thing I want to say is that WizO's != WotC. This is not some secret WotC plot to silence members of the SWM community or ignore their opinions. WotC takes a very hands-off approach to the moderation of the forums, I'm thinking specifically so they can't be accused on interfering in the community in the way you've implied.
Secondly, neither WotC nor the WizO's will discuss the particulars of someone's private account, and that includes disciplinary action, which is why the other two threads were closed. We also won't distribute the email address of a poster who has chosen to keep his hidden, tell you someone's IP address, or confirm any suspicions about whether poster_X is an MUP of poster_Y.
That being said, we have very strict policies for warnings and bannings. We do not just ban people out of the blue or because we feel like it. If you are close to being banned, you will know it. Either because you're doing something HIGHLY disruptive or illegal such as spam attacks, soliciting a minor, or trying to hack the boards; or because you've already gotten 2 warnings in the last 6 months. If you get a third warning within 6 months, all of your current screen names will be locked; however, you are still free at this time to create a new account, as long as you don't identify yourself as being the banned member. Doing so will likely get that name locked as well. Also, I have never in more than five years on these boards seen a banning or even a warn overturned, and I've seen petitions before. All actions a WizO takes are subject to review by our superiors, and if you have a problem with any behaviour of a WizO or a representative of WotC, you should either contact that person directly, or send a complaint to Customer Service at
http://wizards.custhelp.com/.
In addition to official warnings, we can also give "soft warns", which are basically us telling a poster to get their act together without needing to put an official warning against their account. Soft warns can be either private or public, while official warns are always private. This entire system is designed specifically to give people ample time and opportunity to become constructive, contributing members of the community and for them to learn which behaviours we will or will not accept, and also to protect posters from being stigmatised because of disciplinary actions they receive.
Hopefully that clears some things up for you. Robert, if you remove the name of the person in question from your post, I don't see any reason why this thread couldn't continue as an avenue for discussing any questions the community has about our general procedures and practices, but again, we won't discuss the private details of any particular poster's account.
