Holy Crap! I had seen a couple of these, but Baroness, Breaker, Stormshadow and Destro are new to me!

I'm guessing this is a pre-crome-dome Destro?

I'm getting more and more excited with every picture.

Thanks!

Maybe he'll get the dome in the movie.

Heh, that redhead stole Caedus' uniform!

Anyways, I never really liked GI Joe but I'm actually excited about this movie. The white and black ninja guys look really interesting.

^ Also, that guy in the pic above me looks like Commander Shepard.

The official site has been launched-

http://www.gijoemovie.com/

Not much there yet, but August is a long time away.

Joblo.com is reporting that Common (guessing some rapper guy) was asked to play RoadBlock in the movie and he turned them down, so they decided to not have that character in the movie and went with Heavy Duty (Roadblock's cousin) instead.

This doesn't really have anything to do with the movie, but has anyone seen anything on Resolute.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zITV5dmBl3k

Spoilers Below

- The cartoon is titled "G.I.Joe Resolute" and is produced by Sam Register, Written by Warren Ellis, Directed by Joaqui, Dos Santos and lead animation is by David Johnson.

- We can expect to see classic vehicles like the Flagg and have gone all out on the animation.

- Charlie Evans is doing the voice of Cobra Commander. He did the voice of Low Light in the original G.I.Joe cartoon.

- There are ten 5 minute segments with one 10 minute finale. They hope to then eventually show it in full on someplace like Cartoon Network or DVD's.

- Dan Norton is one of the background artists for this series. They showed art of the Flagg morgue, the U.N., and The G.I.Joe situation room.

- They use real life equipment like a stratellite.

- The Flagg has a more updated look. The bridge is round and the whole design is sleeker.

- They have new Jetpacks. You can go to youtube and look up something called jetpack man and see something that looks like the ones the Joe's will use. The Skystriker is based on an YF-22 now

- They tried to keep the color schemes from the classic characters for each of the characters. They showed Duke, Gung-Ho (chest is covered), Lady Jaye with a hat, Scatlett, Tunnel Rat, Storm Shadow who looks like a combination of V1 and V2.

- We could see something similar for other Hasbro brands like Transformers if this cartoon does well. It was said this is the direction they would like to head in with all their brands. However they did not say a Transformers cartoon was guaranteed to happen by any means.

- Lady Jaye will be kind of like Starbuck from the new BSG.

- Destro, Baroness, Cobra Commander among others will be characters we see. Cobra Commander is serious and ruthless in this series. He kills a baby seal in the first episode (Possibly said as a joke to underscore his ruthlessness).

- Characters could die in this series.

- There will be little to no blood shown, essentially this cartoon will be rated PG-13.

- This series will debut in the 1st qrt of 2009.

- The episodes are somewhat self-contained with an overall story-arc that goes throughout the series

joblo updates some new posters. http://www.joblo.com/new-gi-joe-posters

OK I admit I really don't want this movie to suck, but they are making this look really bad. I know the movie doesn't come out til Aug and that is a long time away, but they haven't shown hardly squat and this past week I got the latest issue of Toyfare magazine that contained an interview with the designer.
He starts by saying he got the job cause he worked with Sommers on Scorpion King. He knew nothing about Joe and usually starts a project like this and goes to the local comic shop and asks for everything they have and that's how he gets his background (nice start). He then goes on for 3 pages about how things they normally get 26 weeks for they got 8 and Hasbro kept designing things that he thought sucked for the movie cause they were thinking about toys and not the movie. He basically said all the design and filming was super rushed by Hasbro and the studio. I mean this guy is doing a 3 page spread IN A TOY MAGAZINE to promote the movie and he makes it sound like just some foot note to put on his resume and now next project. He then concludes by spilling that the movie basically focuses on Duke and Ripcord and how they become Joes and in the background we have the rise of Cobra (cause before this they were just terrorists who fought the Joes individually!?!) Great let's make the Wayans brother the main story. Man please don't suck. please don't suck. Maybe if I tell myself enough times it will become true...please don't suck, please don't suck...
So does anyone else find it ironic that Adiwale Akinnuoye Agbaje is the first "star" listed on the movie poster for "GI Joe"? I've never heard of either of the femme fatales either.

I liked him in The Mummy 2 and on Lost.

OMG! That was AWESOME! OK first you have to watch the 1080 version. Then you have to watch frame x frame. There is a bunch of stuff you can see that you can't see in the 30secs watching live.

I am trying to keep an open mind about the armor suits. They sounded cool and then this sequence for the trailer is just Joes in a suit redoing the missle sequence from Transformers with IronHide!?!? I do have to admit I was hating the idea of a Wayans Brother lead, but that is just bad flash backs from D&D. It was funny seeing Marlan's face in the suit. If you watch the frame by frame he is in the suit that is crashing through the train and you can actually see his face through the broken glass.

I really don't know what to think about the Cobra troopers. Don't know if they are the regular troopers or special ones? I hope they are special ones.

Well, I went their and saw the cards and they were really cool. Just went there again and it says they have been removed due to Hasbro's request. Dang, should've copied them first.

I think this movie is going to suck.

I am sadly disappointed. I was a HUGE GI Joe guy when I was a kid.

The trailer looks pitiful. Space suits? WTF?!

I mean all they had to do is have some loose story line and some kick-arse action and combat scenes. done.

Well, I got to see this on Friday. I was a little worried cause I am a huge fanboy, so I knew no matter what it wasn't going to suck, so the only question was whether it would be able to hold up with Tformers or Star Trek. This movie was REALLY violent. Surprisingly in fact. I really enjoyed the story as well as the action. Ray Park is AWESOME in this! My biggest question was around the cobra troopers and the Neo Vipers are incredible and I really enjoyed them. There are a couple of CGI moments that look really bad, but all I wanted was a kick butt popcorn movie and that is what this is. I really enjoyed this. It is no Star Trek, but still very good. I was only dissapointed in the Cobra Commander storyline. He is only in it a short time, yet you get the entire origin story which I always felt his mystery is the best part of his character, but oh well, I don't care that much. :P

I brought my 6 year old to this and was way more horrified than he was lol. Here is the kid friendly review. People do die. There are decapitations. I think they swear in the movie a total of 4 times. They say Asshole once and stang 3 times (mostly when running for their lives)

Saw it last night, I freaking loved it!

High Points for me

Cool origin storiy for Destro and Cobra Commander
Harkins back to the cool 1960's spy movies, without lampooning them
pretty good action sequences, easier to follow and more entertaining then Transformers.
Ray Park with swords
Hot chicks( although I'm a little sad cover girl went out like a punk)

Low points

Channing Tatum as Duke. He sucks, no charisma, bad actor in the vein of Joh Cena, or athletes thats try to transition to movies(shaq, brian bosworth)
Some pretty bad CGI,which I can forgive.
