I've been trying to go through old books and have been looking all over online. I would like to find a yuuzhan vong to english dictionary. To be perfectly honest I'm just looking for the yuuzhan vong word for unity. It's gotta exist, someone must know it. If any one can help I would be forever greatful. How do you say unity in yuuzhan vong?

I did a good bit of searching and can't find that specific word. As developed as a language that it is, it was also used and created by several authors. I'd imagine they all worked together on it, but considering its LFL you can't be too sure about that sometimes hehe. The truth is the language seems only developed so far as basic structure, then its all up to the authors for individual words, and if there was never occasion for i, I doubt it just happens to exist blankly.

Karen Traviss was contacted for a Mando translation in the DOTF V-Set, perhaps you can try contacting some of the authors about it. It would certainly be worth the effort.

Or you could make the word up yourself, input it onto wookieepedia or whereever you might find various words for the language. Then, unless someone goes after you and deletes it, you will have 'officially' helped shape the Star Wars universe.

Thanx for the tips guys. I sent an email to Aaron Allston (one of the only authors I could find contact info on) to see what he says. If I hear anything back I will post here what he says.

I can't recall the events of his NJO books terribly well, most of NJO feels like something of a big mush to me as its been a really long time, but Hopefully you hear back soon and with Good news from him.

It was on the top page of SWMgamers for a while actually. Ray took a big step to try and get that for all of us in the game. And while I am not personally a huge fan of Karen as she can be very unprofessional, it is still really great she helped the community out. Here is a link to it. Sometimes writers do become attached to a particular culture/species in the Star Wars universe or other universe and will do work on their language. Karen Traviss did this with the Mandalorians, and over in the Star Trek universe, fans have spent years developing the Klingon language. (I know the lady who contributed the Klingon word for "cleavage.") But as far as I know, nobody has taken that role for the Yuuzhan Vong, and I have no idea what their word for "unity" would be.

there isn't a word that directly means "unity". it's probably a string of words to describe it. This is the closest i could find to a meaning of unity.

I was referencing the response he had gotten from Aaron Allston about knowing the woman who came up with the word. The word in itself isnt neccessarily funny though.
