Thank God... I mean... if there was one already, I'd likely be doomed...

I finally got my second booster today. Got the Scharnhorst for my rare this time. I'm looking forward to the arrival of the starter I have coming.

My brother would be so jealous...he needs that ship for his German fleet he's attempting to build. Nice pull...nice ship.

I didn't know it was any good when I opened the booster. Funky german name I'd never heard of and all. I also have 2 more rares on the way thanks to ebay. While i've been waiting for my starter to show up I've been doing searches for some of the rares on ebay and making the starting bids of $0.99 on any that don't have crazy shipping prices. So far 2 have snuck through without a second bid so I have those on the way as well.

Ok, I bought in... 2 starters... 8 boosters... and in that, I got TWO dupe rares (yay for even distribution)...

My German Fleet is by far the best... Bismark and Graf Spee (those are my dupe rares in fact). Pair of Koln. One Uboat. No German aircraft, but did get decent Japanese air + the Shokaku.

I must admit, this is a cool game :)

I'd love to start with a decent amount right off the bat, but none of the gaming stores near me even carry WaS. The owner at one offered to order me a case if I wanted, but I can't manage a full case with what I'm going to be dropping on SWM with FU soon and then 4 sets next year. The one place that does sell it is the store I play SWM at which is a 45 minute drive to get to. I am planning to buy or win a booster whenever I get up there to play SWM.

Enterprise is my biggest want since I want a carrier and out of the carriers in the game how can I not pick the Enterprise as the one I'd want most?

And of course i pulled the Iowa in my first pack so neener neener neener. :P

Hey Grambo.... What rares did you get in the starter? I am thinking of getting a 2nd starter just for the extra maps and you get plenty of ships in it.... I got a Washington in mine.... What were yours... I still cannot find Iowa, Enterprise and Yamato

SO what is everyones favorite overall ship.... ton for ton the best one you play

Right now I have to go with the Bismark.... it is just a tough SOB...

But I have no Yamato or Iowa this is based completely on what I have

I got a Bismark in one starter, and a Graf Spee in the other. Picked up a Washington as well, but also avoided the big three you mentioned.

Agreed, bought the second starter precisely for the maps and such.

My favorite so far? Also the Bismark... though the stats on the Iowa are just plain nuts.

The extended range 5 on the Iowa is insane...I lost my Yamato in one turn because I forgot to count sectors and my brother got (very lucky) with the dice...it was my first game to ever play. What a way to experience the game for your first time.

My starter just came. Got my first carrier in the UC St.Lo. Didn't realize it was one of my UC pulls until I checked the name. It was the biggest ship in the box. It's bigger than my rare, the Bolzano.

Looking forward to reading the rules tomorrow night then Wednesday when i have a little more free time I'll try running through a very lopsided solo quick start game.

I'll take a look. I was on the boards there last night trying to remember my name and password from signed up back when the first A&A land set came out.

I hate when when I forget that stuff...I've finally started keeping a list of them for circumstances just like that. By the way...I couldn't help but notice that you've got a little lightsaber action going on below your username there...nice!

Since I don't have one yet...I thought I'd add one to my avatar.

I'm usually really good at remembering them. I can't remember this one because I stopped thinking about it after I sold all my A&A minis and stopped posting on the board.

Once I found out the saber starts activating based on post count I had to get it just to see what color blade it was going to have.

Ok you fools you got me...

I picked up 4 different types of WaS minis yesterday

A couple of planes, a Us SUB (The Barb) and a Japanese Battleship.

What I don't like already is the fact that there are only 5 minis/booster and the set has 64 pieces.

What I DO like is that on an individual basis, the prices don't seem as high as SWM.

I think I may at some point pick up a starter and check it out - not totally sure on this yet but does anyone have the Mod loaded for Vassal?

Yea, the prices aren't to bad. You can build a team pretty easily without spending to much. WAS does have its Boba Fett's (Enterprise, Iowa, Bismarch, etc.) but still none as nearly as expensive. And boosters can be found at a cheap price also. My LGS has them for $10.00 which is great.

Been checking ebay again to try and grab a few more one bid $0.99 ones, but I haven't had any make it through. Looks like prices are starting to go up now that Gencon is done.
