Map: Smugglers Base
Obi and I had a rematch, as our original matched was left unresolved. We used the same squads as noted above and played on the same map, with the same side choices, I took left. Only difference was this time for Tyber Bribery I brought in a Camaasi Noble instead of the 2 Brutes as I had him outactivated handily anyway, and Diplomats seem to give Obi fits.
On Smugglers Base control of the aptly named "Control Room" middle Gambit room is essential. This room is very small and squads tend to get right on top of each other pretty quick. This is just how HK-47 the Disruptive Droid likes it. Storm Commandos go down from him in one shot with ABM on, therefore it was important for me to find a way to keep my distance so this squad could do what it does best: put out insane amounts of massive damage without reprisal.
Round 1 HK and pals make there way toward the top right door of the middle room. I moved the Amanin Scout 18 to be adjacent to the door at the bottom of the room and swap for a Storm Commando to Blow the door. Rather than trying to engage first round, I decided to set up a trap, because I was pretty sure that Obi would bring his squad to camp in Gambit and rely on the high D droids to shield and block. Pell and the other Storm Commando set up camp in the bottom, Thrawn and the Commanders set up shop outside the top door of the room. Hopefully I could catch HK's squad in the crossfire.
Bastilla hid in the starting area and collected more FP's.
Round 2, as predicted the HK squad moves into Gambit and HK moves very far in to the bottom wall of room, with Visas Maar right behind for Bodyguard protection, trying to make the most of the Disruptive zone and blocks one square of the door with a Mouse Droid. I went around the mouse to base HK with my Imperial Dignitary. I also zip the Amanin Scout up and into the middle room at the bottom on the left. Guri jumps on him with her full movement, so she can't attack. IG-88 hangs back in the right entrance way. Obi out of Activations with most of the mice too far back to block and Bastilla still collecting FPs rather than meditating. Storm Commando hiding behind the Camaasi in the middle hall quads and eliminates the mouse droid with no cover. Put a little damage on HK which Visas Bodyguards. Thrawn swaps Commandos and get some decent rolls and put a little more Damage on HK, absorbed by Visas. Uggie opens top door, revealing Commanders.
Round 3. Init, I roll a 1. Obi tries to make the most of this by using Guri's double attack to kill my Amanin, who could have escaped with Wall Climber. My turn I open up with the Storm Commando on HK and get him down to 30 HP, while Visaas is down to 20. Tyber moves one square back to be able to ignore Guri because of Stealth and shoot at +14 for 60 at HK, which Visaas absorbs and dies.
HK considers his options, but can't get around the Diplomat and still shoot the Storm Commando, so out of frustration he marches up to the uggie in the door and kills him, Mouse Droid moves to Block. Weir one square out of Disruptive blows them both away, door closes. IG-88 takes advantage of the closed door to move where he can only see the Dignitary and shoots, missing by 1, thanks to Thrawn's now in effect CE. Obi said he should have Pulse Cannoned, but it was too late. Bastilla decides it's time to Meditate. Thrawn swaps Weir for Noble.
I move up the Gran to be in LOS but still have cover farther than 6 squares, Camaasi moves up to be between IG and Commanders. More Mouse Droids move in. Storm Commando runs up to IG-88. Juggernaut pops out of hiding to put 30 Damage on Weir.
Round 4
Storm Commando fires four and hits with 3 on IG-88 as the opening move. IG-88 hits back with a Crit and crushes the Storm Commando. Juggernaut Sonic Stuns Weir but the adjacent Storm Commando makes the save. Thrawn swaps the Camaasi, for the other Storm Commando, who blows away Guri. Bastilla runs up with FP so I don't have to go hunt her down. I believe Tyber finished off IG and another Mouse. Gran runs far away to the right side starting area behind the building.
The game lasted another couple of rounds of clean up and I got all of his squad but the Ugo, who hid at the top of the right side.
Over all it was a pretty fun game and I've got to commend Obi for continuing to play it out to completion.
