I am down for playin but will need to borrow a squad. After seeing Vset 5 I might have to buy some minis again and play. (removed) but I seeing vset 5 makes me want to come back. I miss the game.

It only took 5 vsets but I really like the feel of this one might help that we got gungans.

Unnecessary remarks.

We have sent out more V-sets with each set we have printed. The game is still plenty alive.

True. And, IMHO, it's better than it's ever been!

That might be true but the lack of reg tournaments and local play is what is lacking. Wish we would of done few things different when wotc left.

I do like we're the game play is that's why I might play in a few regional events this year.

We have a tournament in New Zealand each year named HaweraCon - here's the attendance over the last 3 years.

HaweraCon 2010: 8 players
HaweraCon 2011: 10 players
HaweraCon 2012: 14 players

And gameplay wise, it's growing too. In 2010, it was mostly Rebels, New Republic, and Republic doing well, while in 2012 Old Republic and Mandalorians made the top 4.

This is a regional thread. Nothing else, so keep it that way.

Deleted many posts and edited others.

I think I might be able to make it to this regional in the future. I'd really like to attend this sometime as it is the closest regional I can go to. I live in Morris, MN so it'd be a 7-1/2 hour journey to reach Janesville, WI. I'm not sure how far people have traveled to reach a regional before, but this seems like a long distance to go for one person, since I'd probably be the only person in my playgroup that would attend.

We'd love to have you join us. The MI guys travel about that far to get here. And MN players used to cross the big river.

I will be attending this years regional. My brother and I are combining the drive down with a mini-vacation to go to Chicago and Cedar Point, OH to go visit the Roller Coaster Capital of the World.

Well its looking like we are going to have a solid turnout from the Janesville locals for the WI Regional. Unless obikenobi1 has had something change we will have at least a couple people from MN coming down. There's a good chance we have a couple more guys from northwestern WI coming down from that direction as well. A group from the Quad Cities area looks very promising. We might eclipse 20 people for this event prior to counting anyone from Chicago that may be making the trip.

Anyone else planning on coming or at least considering it?

I'm considering it, but have a feeling my wife is going to nix it being 8 days away from her due date...

Bring her along; we have two hospitals in town in case she goes into labor.

I just got some cool news today. My brother (Taylor) will be joining in on the fun. Initially he was just going to watch, but I convinced him to join in and play. He's pretty new to Star Wars mini's (played maybe 2-3 games in his life), but he said he'll give it a try. Now as for things to bring to the tournament, is the map Rebel Fortress legal to play? (i think its on the back of the cantina map). Also do we need a marker for gambit or will we have those provided at the tournament. My brother and I don't have them, so I hope that won't be an issue. My brother doesn't have a very large collection, so is it okay to use proxy's for some of the V-set pieces that aren't the recommended mini? Not sure what your guys policy is on that.

So you can count on 2 Minnesotan's coming accross the great Mississippi. Hope to see you all there and meet some fellow gamers.

1st off, that is indeed great news. The more the better.

2nd, the flipside of the Cantina map is not legal for tournament play but the Cantina is. For a full map list go to this link and click on the 2013 Map list. We are using A, B, and C.

http://swmresources.com

Lastly, I personally don't have one of the clear gambit overlays but there could be some floating around at the tournament. Just make sure you go over it prior to your matches and ask a judge if there is any question.

Can't wait to meet you guys!

Per tournament rules - Proxies for vset pieces are always fine - as long as it's clear what they are. They shouldn't have incorrect weapons (a big gun for melee) if possible. Above all make it clear to each opponent who is who.
