So I kind of realized that I've forgotten to post anything about this. Basically everyone that I expect to show up (the Charlotte group and the TN group, mostly) should already be aware of this, but here it is anyway.

It will be on May 19th, at SuperGames (the same place as the last 2 years). They are located at

11060 Alpharetta Highway
Suite 134 Roswell Ga, 30076

Entry fee will be $15, and there should be plenty of prize support. Registration will begin at noon, and we will start playing as soon as possible thereafter.

I'll be there, defending the title. We'll see how that goes.

Daniel is judging because we have good intelligence that 13-year-olds will be coming.

Bump for this weekend! Friday night lots of us will be hanging out at Nathan's place. I'll be getting plenty of video of everything including the tournament on Saturday while I'm judging.

Perhaps you should hold a TILE WARS regional. ;)

Update at the store! We've just gotten into round 1 and have everybody set. We have every faction represented today, primarily Imperials and Republic. We have 23 players, and improvement from last year, which is awesome.

We also have 5 Mandalorian Mercs here, a costuming group like the 501st who dress up as Mandalorians. We'll be sure to have pictures up of them.

Just now entering Round 3: Currently our undefeated 2-0 players are David Weeks, Matt Spry, Phillip Gladney, Bronson McNellis, Cliff Ricciardi, and Christian Threet.

We got lots of pictures with the Mandalorians and will be posting them later, but I HAD to share this one!

So we've just finished Round 5 of Swiss and are going into the top 4, which are:

1. David Weeks (4-1, 12 points)
2. Ryn Weeks (4-1, 11 points)
3. Graham Bingham (4-1, 11 points)
4. Phillip Gladney (4-1, 10 points)

As far as I know, we've got the first ever couple in the top 4 of a regional. Graham is playing Ryn right now and David is playing Phillip. I'll update when those games finish and the Championship begins.

So Lancer beat death shots - that's impressive from Greentime. How did he do it?

I haven't seen the match, obviously, but the lancer does 1 fly-by over the grunts, dropping them to 10hp (they start with 30), and hoping for no crits. After that, you pull back behind your mouse walls and let your shooters clean up the mess. Death shots are killers vs melee, but not so bad vs a well-played shooter squad with enough fodder to absorb the hits.

EDIT: Of course, it's nice if you can get the Lancer to Mas and/or Mothma or the other important commanders. :)

Cool - thank you! It's helpful having these things explained to me. Does that mean it's better not to play GGDAC in case you run into Death Shots? Is that something people have been doing?

Pretty much. I think most of the high end Lancer squads have moved to using Whorm and a ton of Mice.
