Congratulations you 4! Looks like it was worth the trip for the NY guys.

Side note: Apparently the Bounty Hunter trophies aren't as easy as one would think to get. It is really tough when Hall of Fame members keep getting paired up with each other.

Home safe & sound.

Thanks to the MI crew for hosting an outstanding event!

It is always great to meet everyone in person; I really enjoyed the level of competition, as these were some of the most intense matches I've ever played. Just wish I gave Jason a better match in the finals... :imperial:

Look forward to hopefully seeing some of you at our Regional on April 28th.

Gerry, great to meet you guys. And yes intense matches as I really think it was our match that decided if you or I would make the top 4. As it was you found that door that looked like a window (I'll never make that mistake again) and sniped my ozzel for the lowest score all day in a 11-10 victory that knocked me all the way down to 11th place. Again great meeting and playing you guys.

My squad

--Speeder Demons--
37 Grand Admiral Thrawn
28 General Weir
27 Lobot
42 Scout Trooper on Speeder Bike x2
20 Admiral Piett
17 Storm Commando
11 Admiral Ozzel
10 Dark Hellion Marauder on Swoop Bike
8 Mas Amedda

(200pts. 10 activations)

Went 5-0 in Swiss beating Ben (Hannacannon), Bill (Billiv), Jason K (Urbanjedi), Matt Peterson, and Scott (Sithborg)

Lost to Gerry from NY (Darph Nader) in a close match in the semi-finals. We both had similar squads, but he had Veers, Palleon and 2 additional commandos (3 total) instead of my Piett, swoop and 2 speeders. Cat and mouse stand-off until the end. I made a couple of safe shots on his Rodian brutes trying to get the activation advantage, but missed each time. Dice were not kind to me that game. That was key, it forced me to get more aggressive at the end to try and score any points other than gambit. His shots hit and we ended with him winning in a very low scoring game. He played it well, and those few dice rolls were the difference in the near stalemate game.

Great meeting the NY crew.

Great tourney - congrats to Jason for being only the 3rd person in history to win 3 Regionals.

Tim i ran a variant of that build locally this last weekend and it DOES have some promise but i cant quite get the hitch in it to smooth out lol i ended up with another commando off of reserves though lol but Kenny ran somethin with disruptive and galen marek which made it TERRIBLE to try and get somewhere lol

Jake, no doubt and this is certainly no slight to Tim but I really think our match was totally insane and the tightest from get go. Only two shots taken all match define just what a tactical conundrum it was for both of us. To be honest, I hated to win that way but something had to give as it was going to come to blows in the gambit zone.

Would love to see you guys here next month!

Tim it absolutely could have been a very different match if the die results were different, especially as it pertained to initiative. Our match was soooo tight, I really think the match was decided on the die rolls and to lesser extent my attempt on the Hellion. IMHO a very close second to my match with sthlrd2.

The opportunity to play against this level of competition is the reason why we make the journey. It was truly a pleasure to have the chance to match wits with you.

Thanks!

In the spirit of full disclosure...

My build - "More General Veeirdness"

37 GA Thrawn
28 General Weir
21 General Veers
51 Storm Commando x3
16 Admiral Gilad Pellaeon
11 Admiral Ozzel
8 Mas Amedda
27 Lobot

Went 4-1 in swiss. Even though I drew the bye in round 1, each subsequent match turned out to be a slugfest. Thanks to Lou for being an outstanding judge! As Tim has already recanted our match I will not rehash. In the finals against Jason and IMO I lost the match b4 the first initiative die was rolled, when I failed to recognize the accurate shot threat from the Echanis and didn't elect to swap in Moff Nyna for Veers.

Boy I wish I had that one back! LOL

Thanks to everyone in Lansing for running such a great event. It was great seeing everyone and hanging out despite my games going far worse then I would have hoped for.. Look forward to seeing everyone at future Regionals, especially the Danville one :)

Also thanks to Jason and Eric Larson for sending us some great prizes for our regional here in Danville!!

I'll write up a report a little later but I agree with DarphNader. If he takes Moff Nyna it becomes a much different game.

Well as I found out the hard way in our game one move can make or break a game, even on turn 1. :)

Well the squads are listed in the order they finished. As far as individual match ups that is up to the individual players to post reports on.

With the exception of the top 4 are listed by final results, not swiss.

Order of the top 4 at the end of swiss was

1. Tim B (TimmerB123) 5-0 (15 pts)
2. Jason K (Urbanjedi) 4-1 (12pts)
3. Chris C (?) 4-1 (10pts)
4. Gerry R (Darph Nader) 4-1 (9pts)

Gerry beat Tim and Jason beat Chris to go to the finals

Tim beat Chris for third/fourth

Jason beat Gerry for first/second
