Mace is strong and relatively straightforward to play. Usually pretty fun to play, too. I expect that the next set of regionals will feature more squads that Mace really struggles with (bombs, Lord Vader, YVJH swarm) as the pendulum swings the other way. It's also worth nothing that Mace lost here to a squad that isn't even what I would call extremely anti-Mace to begin with. Weir isn't a great matchup (like OR is), but it's far from the worst that Mace can see. |

The matchup Mace vs Weir is much worse than you might think. High-volume shooters is what Mace struggles with. Storm Commandos is a squad of high-volume shooters. |

I could be mistaken. |

Plus, when Weir or Zann hits, they hit for a lot, and no reflect if they're in the bubble. Mace could potentially win I think, but Matt played it well and it's another one of those squads that you don't really see how well it works until you face it. It's way more threatening than it initially seems. |

Yeah, you guys are right. Shows you how much I play Mace, huh? I didn't think of swapping Nyna for another storm commando, either. That really makes the Mace player's job harder. |
