SWM costs me a lot more than that.

yup. I think people make too big of a deal about the monthly fee. over a year its not a ton of money, it really isn't.

Its realy not that bad. I Used to play WOW and it is verry manigable. Especially if they have an option to pay 6 monts or a year at a time with a price cut, because then you can just do it at tax time and get it over with

Sweet! Must be nice.

Are you married? Do you have kids? Those are factors that I have to work around. I know my tendencies to throw myself into my gaming too much, so I'm establishing accountability with some friends to make sure that I still give my wife and 4 kids all the attention they deserve. TOR will be around for a few years (hopefully many!)...but it's all 1s and 0s...my wife and kids will (hopefully) be around for life, and they are far more important to me.

Oh, by the way, have we ever determined some way to let all our SWMGamers players know what server we'll be on? When I play, I certainly want to be on the same server as my SWM buddies and in a guild together.

Um, yeah, by joining the SWMGamers guilds posted on the guild page of KOTOR. There is a light and darkside guild, and they do need people to register who have preordered...

Post subject:  Re: Star Wars: The Old Republic

I've just applied to both guilds (Republic and Empire).

For Republic (likely my main character to begin), I'll be playing a Jedi Knight, with my Advanced Class likely being the Sentinel (gotta love the dual-sabers!). After the Knight I'll probably look into the Consular, then Trooper, then Smuggler.

For my Empire character I'll play anything except an Imperial Agent...that'll probably be the last class out of all 8 that I play. Sith Inquisitor, Sith Warrior, and Bounty Hunter all look like tons of fun!

Can you be accepted into two guilds? I know I had to have two accounts to start both guilds, but that is indeed different...

You both must have applied to the lightside version last. It was the only application for either of you

Okay, in that case, please deny me entry into that one, since my Jedi Knight will be my main character, so I'll be wanting to join the Republic guild first. Oops.

New Testing build should be out soon, and also greatly increased invites for the program. Every weekend should add more and more people, some of which as temporary for a weeks run, but still plenty of time to test.

I am unsure if they will be handing out high levels again to test. right now they give people characters at level 40+ at random to test high level content.

So check those e-mails!

They also announced the pricing. I believe that is pretty standard, and it isn't really turning me off. So it looks like I will be in.

Yeah standard prices for sure.

A game of this caliber is well worth the fee as well. You'll see when you play it, trust me. It has possibly the best spent budget I've seen, especially as far as all the voice overs go.

I would hope so, since given how much of their "budget" is rumored to be, along with the time factor.
