Hmmm, probably if things change it won't accept patches....

As soon as this beta build is over, it will not work anymore. Every time they make a new build they are more or less reconstructing the game, adding more compression to files, and changing a ton of content.

Every beta build they have you uninstall and then reinstall a brand new client.

Ruhk must have got a preorder code after all. Now if he would just get our guild out of the "Undecided" category for class selection ;)

Emails were sent out today to EVERYONE that has signed up for beta testing that they will be doing a stress test in coming weeks and everyone will be in a big weekend test. It should be later this month.

We're not that kind of guild. Play whatever you want. We'll have plenty of alts. Probably once we get set up, we'll have a darkside guild as well.

well it looks as though the beta test so far is a massive fail.

supposed to have started at 5 pm cst. so far nothing. part of this is a stress test for the servers.... I think they have failed for the last time. wonder if someone is being griped to death right now.

I played it for a few hours tonight. Good fun, quests are good, interaction with others is easy. Experienced some overall choppiness in the video (while running everything at max).. that was annoying.

Decided to try to the Sith story line and I'm very impressed, very enjoyable!

failed what for the last time?

I got in maybe no more than 6 or 7 minutes after 5pm central for starters.. but then...

The beta is here for people to test the game and find flaws, so that at launch the game can be as good as is possible. Not for us to play early and for free. this isn't a sidescroller lol.

This particular weekend beta, was for them to test their own components vs. us testing theirs. It is a lot better for them finding out major unforeseen or expected issues now than later on at launch time. The next time they do a weekend beta, they are inviting ALL players who opted in before a certain date. now that is going to be one hell of a test on their servers. With what they learned this time around the goal would be for that to run 100% smooth.

It's a test launch, to make sure the actual one is perfect.

I'm happy to see them handling this game carefully.

Man, seems like a LOT of beta keys are being given away from various outlets. I wasn't too interested in the beta, rather waiting to be surprised, but it seems so tempting...

Well, many outlets are giving out keys for the stress test weekend. They want as many people as possible on that weekend, which is why everyone who signed up to test before November 11th will get a key, plus a lot of websites are giving out keys to people who didn't sign up before that date.

Still no applications from your two friends Tint. Even if they don't preorder, it's way simpler to join now, then you just login and it will send you straight to our server.

Well, it looks like I will be unable to help with the stress test. I could bring my laptop with me that weekend, but with all the big family things going on, I doubt it would be appreciated.
