| Post subject: | A Gencon account from a first year. |
Okay so this year was my first year and I thought that someone should tell all who are thinking about going for the first time next year what it is like from the point of view of a first year. I had the time of my life in this 4 day event that is a gaming a money spending haven. Everybody who plays the game, either if you play at a LGS or with some friends in you dining room once a week, should go at least the once. I played in about 6 turnys, started a new game, bought two cases, and fed myself for the whole week end on less then $500. But I spent a lot of money. Someone who wants to go for the first time could do it on about $300 if you don't spend a lot and live close enough. I would recommended going all out on that first year though. It was just amazing meeting everybody and playing a game that I love with so many people who love the same game. I guess all I am trying to say is it is well worth the trip and I am already planning for next year. Hope to see all of you there! |

I agree with you Gunther, my son and I got buy (it's a pun) on about 600 dollars, and most of that was for room and eating. But it was a blast for sure. We also roomed with Darth Jim which saved us on rooming, he also drove so we spotted him some money for gas but didn't have to pay for a rental car which also saved us a lot. All I have to say is plan ahead let people on the boards here know what you need help with and they will find a way to make it happen. |
