I would also put forth that you will have needed to call the judge over at some point during your game, preferably with at least 15 minutes left in the round. That way the judge is aware that you were attempting to get a full win the whole time while the opponent was playing slow/defensively. If you wait until time is called to call th judge over for the first time, then it's simply your word against your opponents as to whether anyone was playing slow or not.

How does this work if the opponent concedes (with some amount of time left) and just walks away. Do I record a 3 pt win or a 2 pt win? Let's use the 145-10 example from earlier. Just want to be aware of how to handle this type of situation.

A lot of it depends on the time, but again, this is why we are having the seminar.....

Generally this will be considered a 3 point victory. But as Brad said, that will also depend on the time remaining. With 3 minutes left, it's going to be a 2. With 30, it's clearly a 3. The in betweens are a little more tricky, but we will let you all know what we intend to do for consistency's sake, and for fairness at the rules seminar. It's something we are aware of, and understand that it's a judgement call for the most part, so we will do our best to ensure we are on the same page for situations like this.

Not sure I can make the rules seminar but thanks for the info. I am sure I will see people around. I just don't want people to get incorrect pts (ie 3 pts when an opponent concedes and walks away) or 2 pts when they deserved 3.

Is this seminar for people playing in the Championship or for the judges? If its for the players, when will it be on Friday?

It's mostly for the players in the Championship, but anyone is welcome. The judges (Bill, and I) along with Dean will be hosting it.

The simple solution is.....call the judge over. :)
