I will be attending. I will be travelling with Matt Harris / dengar1972, who is a GenCon virgin. Matt Hansen will make his decision later in the summer. Job status will determine whether M.Hansen will make it out or not.

And, yes the Team Tournament will return as long as the Godfather wishes it. I will create a new thread in the near future to inform you all of the changes to this year's edition.

I, too, am going. Badge -- check (pick up at Will-Call on Wednesday). Hotel at the Hyatt -- reservation confirmed (I'll be there from Wednesday - Sunday). Waiting (patiently) for the events catalog to shape up.
It looks like I'll be free to do more gaming this year. This is gonna be a great year.

Unfortunately, GenCon is financially unrealistic for me this year. The only way I'd make it is if I won Regionals, which has about 0% chance of happening, lol, but everyone have fun for me while you're there! :mrgreen:

There are forums on the Gencon site specific for first timers, but, honestly, I think we can give you much better advice. There are some threads from last year that we can dig up for you, one of them a very cool article written by "The Godfather" Jim Fraser.
I can't wait to meet another Uggie fan!

You could also check out the forums here: http://community.gencon.com/forums/

Being a "Gen Con virgin", you will be overwhelmed when you enter the convention center for the first time (I know, I was).

That said, be sure to make a "loose" schedule of events you want to attend. . . . And don't rush yourself. You'll find that some, if not most of the events will overlap, so don't worry if you cannot make every event to want to see.

(For everyone) Here are some "unofficial" guides that I bookmarked:

Fast Food
