hey im new on here and looking for places to play. i started about 3 years ago at my buds card shop he ran. times got tough so he gave up his biz but we still play casually on saturdays in hillsboro NC. mostly we play multiplayer games because there isnt enough time for a tourney but if we got enough people maybe we could start. Im also looking for any tourney in the NC or VA area i could possibly go to. one more thing, ive heard of vassal but dont completely understand it so any info about it would be appreciated.

Hello,

We play weekly in Apex NC (All Fun and Games). Saturdays are our day in the middle of the afternoon (2pm). This Sat. will be open play, and the following Sat (the 21st) will be a 150 point DCI tournament.

I have been trying for a few months to get a play group at Sci-Fi Genre in Durham (also a site sponsor). You can prob find the SWM intrest thread over on their forums.

Welcome to the boards, hope to play some games with you!

Cedric

EDIT: now that I think about it, did you show up at AF&G a few random times when KotOR came out?

Well, I cannot speak for NC anymore (That's Simone's job) but there's an active community in Charlotte-NC. Last time I checked, they played off an on at Rebel Base comics (it has a new name that I don't know yet, sorry. They had to change it because the name wasn't "PC" and "rebel" had another conotation down there. Go fig.). JediCartographer is trying to get some games in Chesapeake, VA at Castle of Games. There's also instances of games in Roanoke, VA. I am currently stationed in Midlothian, VA which is about 2 hours away but haven't been to the RTP outside of my scheduled Rifts RPG.

Welcome!! There's a whole section of the forums here dedicated to playing on Vassal. Also, if you go to the swmgamers.com main webpage, and look under the Articles link at the top, there's a great tutorial there for getting started on Vassal. It can be a bit tricky to set up, but if you follow Fool's step-by-step instructions, it isn't too hard.
