For awhile ive been kicking around the idea of running a game where the missions are larlgely based around events you hear about in passing, but dont see on camera, in the movies. The three Im thinking of at the moment are:

Theft of the Death Star Plans
Battle of Taanab
Han Solo's run in with "that bounty hunter we ran into on Ord Mantell"

So, while all three of these have information readily available on Wookieepedia, if nowhere else, I am wondering if perhaps any of these might be a pre-made scenario or campaign in the back of any of the rpg books. I think I heard someplace that the Death Star Plans theft was in a book someplace, but I dont remember any details about the conversation to even begin to know where to look, lol.

Obviously if any of these were already done as a pre-made, it would save me some time, so obviously it would be helpful, even if I didnt stick to it.

So, anyone know?

Anyone have any other suggestions for other off-camera/ between episodes stuff I could to try to string a bunch of these together?

Did you try looking in the References section of the Wookieepedia articles? Might mention them there. It's possible that they would've been in one of the older West End Games RPG books. I can't say I remember seeing anything like that in any of the WOTC Saga Edition RPG books. So would likely be older than those.

It says the Ord Mantell one has information in an old WEG book, but unless I can download it, I dont think Im going to worry about it, lol.

All three do have the Essential Chronology listed as a reference, so I should probably look in there as well as on Wookieepedia, I guess.

Yeah, there's not a whole lot of info about any of those, so I would guess that the Essential Chronology and the Wookiepedia articles will probably cover at least the basic parts of the story. I'm betting Ord Mantell is an already established in one of the Saga RPG books. Otherwise....build your own story around it. That's half the point of RPG'ing anyways. Take the stories you know and make them your own. :)

Can anyone else think of any 'off camera' scenes from the movies that might be interesting to roleplay?

Bullseyeing wamprats back home on Tatooine.

Going to Tosche Station to pick up some power converters. (The players get ambushed/robbed along the way...it's a good thing Luke didn't go off to get those power converters!)

Tosche Station is proud to present...The Pow-er Converters!!!. I love that scene.

So instead Luke ends up staying the night with a Rodian Dancer to come home the next morning to the burning corpses of his Aunt and Uncle and the droids safely in the hands of the Empire.

Not only does pronography hurt you....it hurts the Galaxy!! :D

Off-camera when?

A lot happens off camera that happens in-books/comics.

Which period?
PT, OT, EU ?

PT -formation of clone army, Jango's missions, campaigns and battles of the other 95% of the Jedis, Major fleet engagments in the Clone Wars, What Dooku gets up to with the Peace Moon plans... :P

OT - Leia's missions as a senator/rebel agent, formation fo the rebel alliance, recruitment of rebel allies/members, defection of major characters (like Crix), Biggs et al join, finding/founding Hoth base, hunting rebels, getting the capital ships from Mon Cal (since the MC80s were all modified cruise liners!), construction of prototype, first, and second death star

EU - everything!

OK to focus it down, probably focused somewhere in the timeframe of Post-Ep3 to just past Ep 6.

Also, I <3 Darths&Droids.
