OK, so every now and then I feel the need to pump some life into this section of the forums here. So, got a question for you other RPGers out there.

Dual Weapon Mastery 1 allows you to take a full round action, using two light weapons, and make an attack with each weapon, but at a penalty of only -5, instead of the normal -10 for attacking twice.

The Melee Duelist class has a talent called Dual Weapon Flourish 1 which says that whenever you make an attack as a standard action with a light melee weapon, that you can make a free attack with a light melee weapon in the other hand.

Now, my question is this....does that stack in some way with Dual Weapon Mastery? You have to have DWM 1 in order to get DWF 1, but technically, when you're using DWM, you are doing a full round action, not just an attack as a standard action. I'm thinking that this actually does NOT give you 3 attacks, but just lets you make 2 attacks on the move all the time, without all the crazy penalties.

What say you?

I'd have to say 2 attacks on the move at -5.

My logic:

Characters normally can take two attacks as a full round action at -10 to all attacks.

Characters with DWM 1 have it reduced to -5.

Characters with DWM and DWF have it reduced to -5 and to a standard/free action

Yeah, that's what I'm starting to think as well. Basically just lets you do it on the move, instead of standing still.

I don't understand how DWF 2 works then though. DWF2 says that you make a full-round attack as a standard action instead of a full round action. How is that different from the other attack being a free action? Is there some other bonus that I'm not aware of?

I really need to look at picking up Acrobatic Strike then for my Duelist. Tumble first, then attack with the first one being a huge bonus to hit. :)

Off the top of my head, it's referring to attacks beyond 2. This is the melee version of my "Rex" I played at Gencon. What book sis the Melee Duelist in? I can look closer in there.

This is exactly the case, a full round action is not the same thing as a standard action.

As for DWF2 it mostly applies if you have Double/Triple Attack in which Case you'd get to make 3-4 attacks as your standard action (though if there are any other feats/talents that provide bonuses to full round action they would apply here, and not for DWF1).

Duelist stuff is all in KOTOR

So, DWF2 would really only apply if you have BOTH Dual Weapon Mastery AND Double/Triple Attack, eh? I can understand that then, I guess. That really would be a crazy number of attacks, lol.
