The store name for the Lemoyne Pa store is 'That Game Place'. Rennaissance Games is the name of the store that closed its doors without warning. That name should be stricken from all posts and not uttered again. So let it be written, so let it be done.

Fixed and sorry to hear about that, what a pain it must be to have a place you regularly go just up and disappear once day.

I'm not as harsh about it as I sounded. The Maryland guys may be, though. I just wanted to use a line out of the Ten Commandments in case Jim Fraser reads this lol.

Congrats to Ben.

Good job today. I came in second but to be honest I was just not on top of my game today. I was a bit distracted and lacked some foucs and Ben did not. I had hoped to have gotten my boneheadedness out of me getting ready this week but I saved one for the finals. Ben did exactly what he should have and played great. It was good to see the KC crew it has been too long.

What a nice job he did today and was glad to see him win.

One other side note. I also noticed that maybe not playing for a badge really takes the edge off. I know last year playing for a badge kept my head in the game really well. Today my critique of my game of myself is rather harsh. I was distracted/unfocused and I missed some things. I dont say this in a sour grapes attitude because I had a great time. I just had to give myself an honest critique of myself and I honestly was not deserving of being the winner today. But we got the guy that did deserve to win and that was Ben. he played aggressive when the time was right and conservatively when it was needed.

I found that the 3/2 scoring was great and was impressed with Aaron's/Lobostele's great job on the tournament scoring software he made.

SO A BIG THUMBS UP TO:

BEN

AARON

oh yeah and Ray!!! LOL!!!

Thanks for the kind words, Dean--it was a great day, and I was in a lot of interesting games, not just against Dean but also against Spencer (who ran a solid NR Ganner/Mara squad that bowed out to Dean in the semis--indeed, as far as I know the only people he lost to were the two finalists) and Michael (whose Argyus/Senate Commando/Gungan Shieldbearer squad required all my wits to take down in my semifinal).

You don't go 6-0 at a tourney with this kind of competition without some big rolls at big moments, and I had a couple: in my 4th round game, I had a couple big evades from Dash after I had unwittingly left him exposed to a Twilek Vigo; and in my 3rd round game against Dean, he had made a very nice but also aggressive move to bring Cad Bane in to kill a Bothan Noble, and at that point my hand was sort of forced into basing him with Dash and hoping I rolled well. Then, needing 9's or better on 4 straight rolls, I went 4 for 4, dropped Cad, and was able to play from the lead for the rest of that game. If I don't get those rolls, I'm probably on here congratulating somebody else right now.

Not gonna lie--I'm pretty excited about the whole thing. I've been planning to make my first gencon trip this year, and the free badge will definitely help. Thanks to all who put the regionals together; thanks to Ray for judging the tourney; and thanks to my buddy Reuben down in Texas (slightaddict) who had a long conversation with my on Wednesday night about my squad that helped me think through a couple big decisions.

Post subject:  Re: Regional Dates and Results

Well sorry about the late report. Sadly mothers-day was a real strain on our turnout. But we are talking about trying another big event in July to make up for it. We had 7 entered players and we had a handful that stopped by at various times to say hi and see how it was going.

But those of us that were there had a great time.

The top four winners were;

Eric W. a local player and non-board member.
He ran a very nice squad with a few quirks that helped make it successful. It was;
Yoda GM
Quin Vos Infiltrater
Boba BH
Mas
Doombot
uggie Debo x2
ARF Trooper
Lobot CLO.

Marc, aka WXJedi came in 2nd place.
He was running a well built and superbly run mando squad. A cool bit of Trivia Boba enforcer was his most expensive piece and had the highest hp. IT was;
Boba Enforcer
Mando Scout x 2
Mando Gunslinger x2
Jareal
Mando Cap'n
Twilek BSV
R7
Rodian Brute x2
Uggie Demo x2
Mouse droid x2

Don T. aka Dalsaindon came in 3rd. oh this is Me by the way
I ran a Yobuck squad. A bit of trvia; I suffered a first round loss against a droid army that kept me out of first place. I couldn't hit and it didn't miss. I should have cleaned the floor withit too as I had yobuck just to deal with that kind of squad. But he missed on some of the big DAC inhanced droids, yes even with his gallop attack score.

Ivan aka Darth_Mauler came in 4th
He ran a nasty stormtrooper swarm that was amazingly effective. It had 25 activations, and Thrawn was his most expensive piece. My Yobuck trashed it to secure the final placed seating.

Interestingly there was not as much diversty at our event, (granted we had a small turnout) it was mostly sepretist versus republic with a few empiral squads in the mix. And one second place mando build.

They're all done. It might be time for the final update, and stick it in the record books for prosperity.
