Dalez Kardz and Komics will again be hosting the SWM Regional this year. The date is set as sunday May 9th. Start time will be 10 am. We know it's a bit of a drive for some but it will be worth it. A full day playing SWM for a shot at a GenCon pass and other really awesome prizes.

Now I know not everyone is a "competitive" player. Thats fine. As players of SWM "competitive" or "casual," I think this is a fine opportunity for us all to join together and celebrate this game as it comes to the end of it's production. We can also use this as a forum for remembering why this game is special to us and getting to know other players, possibly even in our own community.

Haven't played in a while? Thinking of calling it quits? Let this be your last event, so that it will have real value and meaning as you say auri ' vou to this great game. After all what a mighty send off.

Bring your trades, try to fill those last few spots in your collection, the more players in store the more trade that will be available. Consider the possibilities of the great fun you can have win or lose being with just a small portion of the best gaming community in the world.

The address and telephone number for the store is;

Dale'z Kardz and Komicz
Phone (719) 528-5959
Email dalez@dalezkardz.com
Website; http://www.dalezkardz.com

The store is always clean, soda is 50 cents, and there is plenty of snacks and goodies. There is also a taco bell (it's the closest) and a couple of other FF resturants that are close by.

I look forward to seeing as many of you who can make it.

You can PM me for further info and I'll get it to you as rapidly as I can.

It is set for Sunday May 9th, I'll make an adjustment to the post to make the correction. Saturaday the 8th had been tossed around as a potential date for a short time, but it was lost to the argument of "the regular saturaday crowd" which makes since.

Dang, I just realized this regional tournament is on Mother's Day. That's too bad. I can't justify putting SWM over my wife (afterall, it will be her first mother's day as a mother).

Have fun at the tournament!

Cincy completely missed that it was Mother's Day as well so we lost at least 2 players if not more. Hopefully it didn't hurt your group all that much...

I know of at least 4 that wont be coming at this point. Funny thing was we had 2 a month ago say so, and hten in the past week two others, but by the point we caught it, it was too late and it wouldn't have been until July so...

Well sorry about the late report. Sadly mothers-day was a real strain on our turnout. But we are talking about trying another big event in July to make up for it.

But those of us that were there had a great time.

The top four winners were;

Eric W. a local player and non-board member.
He ran a very nice squad with a few quirks that helped make it successful. It was;
Yoda GM
Quin Vos Infiltrater
Boba BH
Mas
Doombot
uggie Debo x2
ARF Trooper
Lobot CLO.

Marc, aka WXJedi came in 2nd place.
He was running a well built and superbly run mando squad. A cool bit of Trivia Boba enforcer was his most expensive piece and had the highest hp. IT was;
Boba Enforcer
Mando Scout x 2
Mando Gunslinger x2
Jareal
Mando Cap'n
Twilek BSV
R7
Rodian Brute x2
Uggie Demo x2

Don T. aka Dalsaindon came in 3rd.
I ran a Yobuck squad. A bit of trvia; I suffered a first round loss against a droid army that kept me out of first place. I couldn't hit and it didn't miss.

Ivan aka Darth_Mauler came in 4th
He ran a nasty stormtrooper swarm that was amazingly effective. It had 25 activations, and Thrawn was his most expensive piece. My Yobuck trashed it to secure the final placed seating.

Interestingly there was not as much diversty at our event, (granted we had a small turnout) it was mostly sep's versus republic with a few Imperial squads in the mix. And one second place mando build.
