I cant get anyone to play the new rules here. They all feel that the rules haven't been converted from WAS to Star Wars enough. The Sub class really turns them off. (It really does me too, but I am more willing to overlook it.) :)

Would it help if the SUB class was called Cloaked fighters?

It's a game balance issue. Without Subs, there is no reason to play destroyers (M Falcon, shuttles, Fett's). WaS had the same issue with the first set. There was a medium rewrite of the rules to make a reason to play destroyers. Also with out Subs in the game, large battleships and heavy crusiers only need to fear other ships of the same class.

I am open to suggestions to make this better. Having folks who have not tried the rules say "it suks" does not help. (not directed at you).

Gunships, Rapid Assualt cruiser, there are plenty of star wars esc names for it to fit, it's just interesting that people get hung up on that one designation.

Just bought a starter online for $25 after shipping. When it gets here, I'll try playing through a couple games with whatever I get in it, and give some feedback.

Question: Why not more custom stats for uniques? I realize getting solid stats for the existing pieces is a priority, but alot of the ships could be given several sets of stats, representing uniques.

Jedi Starfighter could be made in a unique for Mace, Plo Koon, Kit Fisto, and others.

Star Destroyers obviously have lots of uniques from movies/ books. Just different CE based on who was in command of the ship. Chimaera, anyone? Lusankya?

Rogue Squadron could have Wedge, Corran, etc

Baron Fel in a TIE, Oddball in a....whatever it was he was in...

Base stats first and then customs. Thanks for hopefully posting playtesting results.

A few questions...

Ion Cannon still doesn't have a definition.

How exactly does Landing +X work? You get extra victory points at the end of the round, a la Gambit?

Yes.

Now that folks are showing more of an interest, I'll go more into a rulebook type of writing.
