Hekar looks at the young diplomat, Umrak's body movements are very telling, even without the Force, it is obvious that these beings desire something.

"Prime Minister, what exactly is it that you want from the republic at this time? What can we do for you?"

The Prime Minister grins slightly and clears his throat.

"Well, there is something the Republic - you - can do for me," he says, pointing his finger at each of the Jedi entourage. He raises his hand and waves to one of the guards at the back of the room. The guard lingers a moment while someone outside the hallway approaches and hands him a data disc. He then goes and loads it into a computer terminal and a 3-D image appears above the table. It is a holographic image of what appears to be an advanced style of warship.

"What I am about to tell you must not leave this room. This is the Alpha Class IV, a prototype design for a new fleet of warships unlike anything the galaxy has seen before. It is our most heavily guarded secret, only the people in this room and a few trusted political leaders know of its existence."

"Let me be perfectly clear, ambassadors; this is NOT a holographic drawing," he adds after a brief pause. "What you are looking at is a real-time image of the ship in space at a secret shipyard construction site. The ship was prepped and readied for launch as we sat down to begin conversations."

He turns to the Senator, who picks up where the Prime Minister leaves off. "Just this morning, our intelligence division picked up a transmission emanating from a remote sector of space. The transmission was brief, but clear. So far, we haven't shared this information with anyone."

He nods again to the guard still standing at the terminal, who then pushes a few buttons. An image of a man's face that the Jedi instantly recognize as Count Dooku appears before them.

"The meeting will begin in two days, my lord," Dooku says. There is a slight pause.

"I believe a consensus can be reached. The Droid factory is already operational, and once the others have seen what we've done, they will pledge their support."

Another pause, this one slightly longer.

"It shall be done, master," Dooku says at last. The transmission ends.

The Prime Minister speaks again. "We've been unable to track the other end of the transmission, and we have no idea who Dooku was speaking to. However, we are sending the Goliath to Geonosis to try to determine more about what is occurring there."

He turns to Hekar. "You asked what it is I want, young Jedi," he says. "I want the Republic's pledge they will fund construction of these warships to take part in the coming war. You heard Dooku: the Droid factory is already up and running. When the Senate learns of this, there will be no hesitation. There will be war, and we intend to see that this planet not only profits, but survives," he says as he nods to Umrak.

"We know, as you do, that Taramus Frill is a staging world for incursions into Republic territory. What better way to appease our people than to show them that we will be the ones building the ships that will defend not only this world, but countless thousands of others? They will stop rioting when they know the Clone army will protect them."

He then turns to the Senator. "I think a recess is in order, don't you? The Jedi probably want to contact their leaders on Coruscant."

The senator nods in agreement. "That would probably be wise, Prime Minister. We can reconvene this afternoon."

When Hekar convenes with the other two Jedi in private.... "This information is somewhat valuable. I think we need to send a transmission directly to Master Yoda, he will want to know of this. Do you feel our communications channels are secure enough?"

"My friend... if the Jedi choose to investigate this further, as I believe they will... we must accompany them. This could be a tremendous opportunity for us, and not one we should pass up. Can you look into the Jedi, and see if you can learn of any angles by which we can make ourselves 'important assets' to their investigation? I will speak to father, and add fuel from that side..."

Gaani nods in agreement with Hekar. "A commitment such as this certainly can't be made without consulting the master's council. The senator's son seems eager to be involved, and his father must have a diplomatic line to Corsucant. Perhaps Urmak can help us gain access to a secure line?"

<What's the senator's name?>

OOC: I'd like to know what I might find about the Jedi in the public databases, or any other means I might have access through in the Taramus Frill networks.

"I couldn't find much about them. They came in Bagwaw Beedo's ship, and so have whatever supplies they brought with them on the ship, whatever that may be. So I have no idea of knowing what sorts of things they might need without out right asking them, or sneaking aboard the ship. Don't think I want to get Jedi upset at me by doing THAT sort of thing.

The only thing I found that sort of disturbs me is the fact that all these Jedi are Padawans. The Jedi Council didn't send a Master with them, let alone a Jedi Knight. I find that a little odd. Though they do have some history with other negotiations that they have attended, I believe this is the first one they have worked on without the presence of a Master.

Perhaps we can offer to do whatever is necessary to convince them to support us. Would your Father or the Senator allow us to give them a tour of the ship-building facilities?"

All the jedi are together, that's correct. The senator is still milling around the hallway outside the conference room and takes you all to a secure communication station where you can contact the Jedi Council.

Using the Jedi Encryption code, Hekar steps in front of the recorder, Masters, It would appear that there have been some strange happenings, please look at the attached information and see what you can make of it. The beings on this world desire to make the ships for the Republic's army. They have working prototypes. They feel that a war is imminent due to Count Dooku's speech in the attached audio-file. I think something terrible may be on the horizon. Please send instructions back.

"An outstanding observation, my friend. I cannot understand why they would send all Padawans, unless the Master is already working behind the scenes... possibly here in secret. However, they do seem in earnest... perhaps we can take advantage of this, as you suggest.

"I will speak to my Father. You speak to the Jedi. I think we should spend more time together."

"Ah, you've been able to send word back to the Council. Umrak and I were discussing the current situation, and would like to offer ourselves for whatever help you might need. Senator, is there anything that you feel would help sway the Jedi here, and the Council back on Coruscant to our cause? Umrak and I thought perhaps a personal visit to the ship-building facilities might be helpful."

I think it likely that the Jedi will want to see more to report to their masters... and I would like to be their escort. Have I your blessing to act as their liaison during this crisis? Fear not, Sartoris is with me..."

The Senator smiles at his son. "I had a feeling you were going to say that. In fact, I was counting on it. I must return to Coruscant to bring what we have learned to the Chancellor, but there's no one I would rather accompany the Jedi than you... and Sartoris, of course."

He clasps your shoulder. "May the Force be with you."

Then strides out the door never looking back.

CLARIFICATION: The Senator isn't in the room with the Jedi, he merely led them to a secure communications relay. Do you still wish to find him before you leave?
