I was playing around on MiniManager with some pure, or as-pure-as-I-can-get squads using as many unique Jedi as I can, and there just doesn't seem to be a viable way of doing it without handing over tons of points to your opponent before you get an attack off. I don't like the fact that JWM's are really the only competitive solution. So, I decided to add a new commander to the mix.

Cin Drallig, Weaponmaster 34 points

HP: 90
Def: 20
Atk: +14
Dam: 20

Special Abilities
Unique; Melee Attack; Double Attack; Greater Mobile Attack;

Force Powers
Force 3
Lightsaber Block
Lightsaber Deflect
Lightsaber Riposte
Lightsaber Precision

Commander Effect
Unique Republic Allies with a Force rating gain Charging Assault +30. Republic followers with a Force rating gain Lightsaber Duelist.

I am aware that 34 points as a cost might seem low, but that was intentional. With no tempo control outside the MTB, no disruptive, no decent shooters (I've found Sevs to miss a whole lot more than they hit) and little initiative control, the Republic needs something like this to make the Unique Jedi a threat... again?... for once?

What do y'all think?

I think one of the main problem with the Republic's Jedi is their lack of defense against shooters. So, maybe you could replace Duelist with Deflect.

The intention was that the Charging Assault makes up the ground lost to shooters.
