This is something I've been thinking about for a while, and I haven't seen anyone else really working on it too much.

I would like to organize a committee to develop - and playtest - a special "all-stars" set of characters from the first 6 sets that are in need of revision, for a variety of reasons. This does NOT mean simply beefing up old, unplayable characters, but rather adjusting them in a way that makes them more than just boring "vanilla" characters or carbon copy figs.

This will be a 60-piece set with choices for characters coming from each of the first six sets (Rebel Storm, Clone Strike, Revenge of the Sith, Universe, Champions of the Force, Bounty Hunters).

The following characters are NOT choices for inclusion:

- A character that has been reprinted in a set not listed above - so no Imperial Officers, Stormtrooper Officers, Nikto Soldiers, etc.;
- A character that is currently considered tournament-level competitive (ie Aurra Sing);
- A character whose revision would just mean making him a fan boy's dream fig (Luke JM is one example); or
- A character who would simply need too many "new" abilities to make it function correctly.

For this set, the break-down will be:

Rebels - 11
Empire - 12
Separatist - 12
Republic - 11
Fringe - 14

I'd also like to stick with the standard breakdown of 16 C, 16 U, 16 R, 12 VR.

Not to exclude the other factions, but I just don't think there are enough of them in the first six sets to justify their presence with what we're doing. Additionally, I think most of the ones that are in the game are either balanced enough to see regular play, or meet the criteria of exclusions listed above in some way or another.

Now, the first thing I want to do is form a committee. Shinja, you have put a lot of work into some of this already so I publicly invite you to participate. Anyone else is welcome to join as well, of course. I will allow about a week for committee organization and then proceed with the selection process for the first batch of revisions.

This sounds like an interesting project, I'll help in any way I can.

Some ideas:

RS Darth Vader Sith Lord (pretty bland, and basically overcosted as is)
RS Luke JK (we're kind of getting an upgrade in the next set, but maybe we can set this one apart.)
CS Clone Trooper (these guys may be made cheaper, but they're still passed over for more useful figs)
ROTS Agen Kolar
ROTS Obi-wan Kenobi JM
ROTS Stass Allie
ROTS General Grievous JH (this is not a "he needs Jedi Hunter!!!" suggestion)
RS Bothan Spy (these could be cool)
ROTS Darth Sidious Sith Lord
COTF General Windu (He needs renewal, it's crazy in light of what is coming out now.)
COTF Arcona Smuggler (I mean, what's the point?)
COTF Gundark (I'd love to see these with Ambush)
UH Clone Trooper on BARC (Can we change the base size?)

Those are just some of my first thoughts.

Something tells me that a lot of this stuff is going to be from Revenge of the Sith... :?

Not sure many characters, if any at all, need anything extra. All that is really needed is a cost adjustmnet IMHO.

eg. RS Han Solo, 28pts, that's more than Han Solo in Stormtrooper Armour, 25pts, who is a far superior option. Now, at 20pts he could be useful.

I would be interested, but only if the committee does not grow so large that it becomes cumbersome to get anything done.

*hates committee's in general and prefers to work alone*

Not really interested in helping, just posting to get this out there, cause it needs to be said:

"I AM NOT A COMMITTEE!"

So this is our committee:
Boris (chair)
Gemini1179
Aeimnestus?
nuksaa
DarkLordVerjal
Ugavine?
Luke_Skywalker
Fool
Rogue Saber
Darth Havok

If there is a question mark by your name, it's because you posted in one of the 2 threads but didn't state whether you wish to be on the committee.

Now, step 1 is to determine which minis we want to put in our set. I think we should develop the list in terms of rarity, starting with common and working our way up. Each committee member may nominate 5 characters for consideration, and then we will vote on which ones to do.

Input from the entire community regarding stat developments is absolutely welcome, but the committee members will have the final say on the stats.

Oh yeah. I forgot about that, or more likely blocked it from my memory. Thanks for pointing that out. :)

Great to hear the commitees open to input. I'm far too new to the game to be in any other role than a member of the 'entire community' that has some ideas and interests in this concept. I really like some of the suggestions so far for common fig's to re-stat; in particular Wookie Beserker, Aqualish Spy, Gungan Infantry and Separatist Commando. It would also be nice to see a Gotal Fringer with more than 10 HP and a Wookie Scout with 40 HP would make them a helluva lot more useful.

Having started my collecting with the CS and RotS and now working on a LotF collecton, the thing I've noted about the 2 earlier sets is that there isn't a single Republic force user that isn't melee-only. I've started to use LotF's Luke LotLS and I've thought it would be nice if one or more of the CS or RotS Republic force users wasn't limited this way. IIRC from the movies a number of the Jedi sometimes used ranged weapons. I realise some of them have LS throw, but that's not a true ranged attack. It seems to me that a lot of the reason Aurra from CS is still useful is because she avoided this restriction, that and being Fringe of course. :)

Still waiting on a couple of people's nominations for commons; then we will vote on 16 of them.

I would like to make a couple suggestions as well, take them for what you will.

Clone Trooper ( the new Saga edition has CT Armor and ST Armor as providing the same bonus)
I'm not sure if this would qualify since it could be considered a reprint.

Abyssin Black Sun Thug (where's the Black Sun sub-faction ability)
