Thanks for the input. Making custom characters makes me appreciate the design aspect of releasing a set. It's tough to balance the cost, SA, FP, etc while trying to improve a figure/gameplay, but not totally nerfing the usability of an existing character (Kudos for Rob and WotC).
IMO compared to "Darth Vader" and "Luke Skywalker, CoTF" this Vader's point cost for the stats may be within the ballpark. However, compared to JWM it's under cost. The reasoning for the SA and FP selection are based on:
No Disintegrations –Movie V when Vader’s states no disintegrations to Boba Fett on the Star Destroyer with the rest of the Bounty Hunters. Game wise to provide a new way of handling disintegrations.
Lightsaber Duelist – Movie V Vader’s and Luke’s lightsaber duel in Cloud City. Game wise as an aid for Jedi DEF.
Cunning Attack and Twin Attack to boost Vader’s damage potential to make him more playable for his cost.
Absorb Energy Force – Movie V when Vader deflects Han’s shots in Cloud City with his hands. Game wise to add DEF against shooters and to compensate for his lower HP.
Surprise Move – Movie V when Vader disappears and then sneak attacks Luke during their Cloud City fight. Game wise to add different mobility to Vader.
Force Push – I am not sure how the WoTC designers are going to handle this in the upcoming sets. I believe they hinted aspects of Force Push and Pull type of powers. So, this may need adjusting.
I was thinking of adding this SA as well:
