"Operation Cheap Bot" was an operation who's goal was to easily and inexpensively improve the R5 line (which had numerous flaws). However, one of the technicians accidentally downloaded the wrong software into the 4 droids. The software was intended for use in Super battle droids, turning the noramlly peaceful and harmless droids into weapons of destruction. The droids went through the facility, easily killing all the personna, and went on to conquer the galaxy (it is currently unknown if they have succeeded yet
