Niles Ferrier looks spot on. Did you use the Duros Merc for the body?

Thanks!

Niles is made from a Duros Scoundrel and then a Human Bodyguard Head.

And here's a new one

I'll have to use your recipe to make my Niles. And the paint job on Arca Jeth looks impeccable! :o

I almost wanted to give Niles another set of Legs because he is supposed to have a holster on his right leg. Then I got a little lazy and also didn't want to cut up too many guys.

So Holster legs are a suggestion if you might be interested.

I have a Duros Scoundrel that I had already cut up into head, body and leg pieces. I was about to glue the body and legs back together to mimic your Niles, but now that you mention this I'll wait and find a proper pair of legs for him.

cool beans, can't wait to see what you cook up.

feel like I haven't been here in forever (oh wait.. i haven't..)

got some issues going on, but hopefully soon I'll have time to paint up some more stuff. I've done a lot of preliminary chopping and gluing on projects. just need to paint them up now.

Next up should be a Joruus that will blow some minds. just wait and see.

What paint do you use? And how do you do such a fine paint job? Usually, I'll work with a mini for a long time until I get rid of most of the errors you can see with the naked eye, but the photos always make my paint jobs look worse. Yours are impeccable in photos, and I'd give some VRs to see your customs in person! :Boba:

Practise makes perfect. Watered down wash. But I know what you mean, Arca is looking great!

I mostly use Folk Art paint. they come in 2 oz. size bottles for around 2 dollars a color. The washes took me a while to get down, it just the right amount of paint and water. Depending on the colors I water it down a little more than needed and just do multiple washes.

Years ago I never used washes, I was afraid of ruining the overall paint job and having to redo it. I'm glad I took the leap into washes one day haha.

Pictures are taken with a special setting on a camera for micro details. I'm just lucky enough to have access to it for the time being. I should take a picture of the camera, the thing is huge haha. I think a lot of it is lighting also. Mine are taken under a lamp and also with a flash to bring out the color the best.

Tomorrow I am definitely working on Joruus and then probably going to finish up on Vilmarh Grahrk.

The chop job for the Villie is relatively close, but its the head I don't care for too much. I think once its all painted up it will look better though.. hopefully.

Thanks Biggsy! He was certainly a long time in the making as I meant to have him finished back at the end of January, I'm pretty excited to have finished him up. I was sketchy about the Dodonna Head at first but I think it got the job done for sure.

And in case anyone wonders or might ask the Lightning is something I pieced together from very small bits and glued together. I sliced it all down from electric type pieces from the Hasbro Figure line back around 2002. I'm a super packrat!

I think I'll be working on My Vilmarh Grahrk next, who can double up as the upcoming Devaronian character from the R&R set.

And now here is the Mandalorian Advance Scout. I decided to try the Crusader look before Mandalore the Ultimate made everyone where the same armor. Lets see if anyone can guess all or even some of the parts used hehe.

Than mandalorian is awesome! I think you did a very good job on the crusader armor.

As for the pieces.. hmm, i guess the head is from a Death Watch Raider or Quartermaster, and the backpack/torso is from a Human Soldier of Fortune. Other than that, i'm lost :?

Yuuzhan Vong Warrior from Legacy is the overall figure, with slight repositioning of hands and arms. The Gun, air tanks, and that Metal belt are all from a Techno Union Guy, I had to very carefully cut it apart and shave it down. the Head is from the Deathwatch raider, and the spikes are all recycled off the Vong. the Sword is from a D&D figure of some sort.

The older style Mandalorians have a very archaic look, somewhat organic I guess. The Vong pieces seem to work well for that. I have a few others planned kinda. I just need to combine parts the right way to achieve that Tech look as well.

I'll try to get another custom done tomorrow, maybe two if time allows for it.
