Okay so i have a squad I use, but have found that dodonna is not always needed should I just not use him at all with 10-12 activations.

Some more details about the squad would be nice. Why don't you just post the whole squad? We don't even know what point level you're talking about.

Based on your first post, I might think you are running Kyle and Wedge and 7 Ugos for 100 points, in which case, of course you don't need Dodonna, but you probably also have other problems as well, lol.
