There is a 200 point event comming up at my LGS in two weeks. I have a few squad ideas but I need some help tweaking them or teching them out:

B&B
Thrawn 37
Mas 8
DVIC 53
Admiaral Piett 20
+82 points

I played B&B at my last tournament I went to with a bunch of RPT's. I got owned!!! However at the time I did not have Mas. I would like some opinions on other CE's that I can add to beef up my troopers.

Yoda
Loda 70
Han Rogue 30
Princess Leia 20
+80 points
This is the squad I have been attempting to build. The problem is these first three characters are so expensive, I dont have that may activations afterwards!!! I need some pointers on where I can go with this squad. Honestley this is the one I want to play. However if I add an Obi, a Fett, or any other heavy hitter I run out of points real quick.

Republic
Gen Windu 72
Mas 8
Queen Amidala 16
R2 Astro 9
-and-
3x JM + filler
-or-
5 Sev + filler
(or any combination of the above)
This is another squad I keep trying out. Republic based around the 4 characters mentioned then filling out the last 95 points with Sev's and JWM's. Its fun and I have owned some squads but other ones have given me problems.

What people have been playing:
Francor/Revan
COTF Luke + PLO + Han in Armor
Obi Unleashed + Maris + filler push squad
Luke Hoy + Obi Spirit + Yoda of Dag + PLO

Those are just a few that I have been playing against. The only map I have is the 2007 starter. Also I just got Clone Strike Aurra and BH Jango in the mail so I would like an excuse to use them. :P Oh and I also got a Lobot since my last tournament!!!

Any help is appriciated. I do have some options to work with.

Based on the squads you're facing, I would consider running Thrawn myself, but I'm partial to him anyway. The trouble with this squad is that piett and thrawn don't get along very well. Thrawn helps you win init, and usually in the firefight you want to go first. Piett boosts those who go second, which doesn't usually work so well.

Also one of the reasons I like to play Thrawn is because I try to play him aggressively. I use his Ysalimiri to great effect, especially against pushy squads. I typically won't hide him in the back and use him for swapping only. I actually get him out and use his force bubble. But that's me.

However, if you do want to run piett, here's a suggestion: Eweb and swoop bike. (especially if you bring in a swoop bike or 2 with Lobot.) I call it my swoop and swap. You may want to consider RS Tarkin as well, as having 3 activations can be REALLY helpful for doing this. What ends up happening is players will become dependent on Mas or some other commander they hide in the back. Swoop and swap will take care of that. At the end of the 2nd round (or even first if you can swing it.) run the swoop bike 24 squares right into the heart of his hiding commanders. Swap out with the eweb using thrawn. Then your eweb now, with opportunist, has an 11 attack for 40 damage. Twice. At the beginning of the next round (because thrawn helped you win init) attack again, this time +7 for 30 twice, then swap the swoop back in. Personally, I used Veers instead of a vader so my eweb could attack anyone twice, but that's me.

I tell you what, taking out the opponent's Mas or other commander, especially that early in the game, will completely deflate your opponent.

Something to consider, at least.

hehe the event was two weeks ago and I went 3-0 with a Gen Windu/ Sev squad.

I love the idea of your "swoop and swap" that sounds like something I would do so I may try that sometime.

Thanks for the feedback!!!!
