The Future of Tournament Reporting will soon be upon us, and we are prepared.In the very near future, we will no longer have any support from Wizards. IN order to continue the competitive scene with as little interruption as possible there has been a team behind the scenes working on getting archiving the current information from the DCI Report. I have had the privilege of leading this group and as a team we have made some amazing headway; so far we have:
1)Built a database with over 8000 players in it, as an Archive to what exists in DCI,
2)Echo spent the time to save all the current rankings and ratings information.
3)Created and assigned all 8000 players new SWG ID numbers
4)LoboStele created an amazing Swiss Pairing Worksheet in Excel.
LimitationsVery little, this is a manual process for the reporting however. Due to the this manual process we will NOT be recording each person Matches and Events from the DCI program. If you wish to maintain this historical data for your own records, please do so. We will maintain a fresh record moving forward with updated events.
What does this mean for the future of tournament play and reporting?1st and foremost we will still have one. TO’s will be provided with information on where to upload their tournament results moving forward post WotC. The team will strive to make sure that the database and the reporting is updated on a weekly basis. This next month we will be taking a final “snap shot” of the DCI system, after that happens we will no longer be updating rankings and ratings from the DCI system. We will do this as late in the month as possible, but have to make sure we can get it done before the possible shut down May 31st.
What should I do?As mentioned previously we will be creating a new database that will be easier to manage and report against, to make sure that current players are in the database automatically. you need to tell us who you are. AS tournament reports come in we will cross check against the historical database and if they reside there we will move all their historical ratings over to the new database and adjust the rankings and ratings accordingly. You might see some jumping around in the rankings as passive players are re-added into the database.
If you want your information migrated in advanced, please make a post that includes:
Name
DCI Number
City/State/Country
Optional: Link to your name in the DCI database.

Are than any changes we should be aware of?To make reporting easier and to divide up the work load we have divided up the globe into regions. If somehow your region was overlooked I sincerely apologize and please let me know so we can fix it. The New Regions are as follows
US:
West = Endor
Midwest = Naboo
Southwest = Tatooine
Southeast = Dagobah
Northeast = Yavin
Canada = Hoth
Mexico Central, South America = Felucia
Europe = Courscant
Asia, Australia, New Zealand and other Pacific Islands = Corellia
IF you are a TOPlease notify your group of these changes, and if you have regular players in your group, it may be easy to have you collect the information and submit it since not all your members may be a Gamers member.
When can I find out my ID number?We hope to have that posted soon, Initially the reporting may only be available via an Excel download. As we continue in this process we will be able to further refine our process and capabilities.
