Post subject:  New DCI changes

Since it's January 1rst, and DCI has again not been on top of it, can we get a comprehensive list of changes or is that too much of a pain, and we should all just be patient and wait for WOTC to get in gear.

We have a tourny tonight and I know a few folks there would love to use the new reinforcement gambit rule. But since I don't have printout of it's exact nature that's a bit tricky.

It's discussed in the January DCI thread, as well as afew other items of note, but I was trying to just get the changes and not all the extra chatter around it. But searching the thread helped, but obvious to us, (not to WOTC/DCI) havign a print up of the latest rules is a nice thing to have

At Gencon: Mystery Map Tournament -- Bring squad, no map. JC makes a map, no one else is shown the map until the tournament starts.

Slow Play:
If a game goes to time, you gain two points, rather then three points. (Normally, a match win is worth three points). Tiebreakers are more defined (not down to alphabetical order or when you were entered into the tournament). 3rd tie breaker is now # of complete victories, 4th is head to head, 5th is opponent's match win % (which I think is 1st now?). Need to clarify that 5th one with Dean...

Gambit:
Reinforcements can no longer score Gambit. A piece must be worth 5 points or more in order for it to get Gambit.

Map List is going to shrink (sounds like Teth, Taris, Hoth?) Open maps.

Point Formats: 125 Sealed

Characters that you obtain from reinforcements during a game, cannot score gambit points.

DCI Updates Available

Big changes

GOWK unbanned.
SSM changed to non-melee only in DCI
Rigid is flat out removed in DCI (already there? not sure)

NN restricted 6 is a map choice option, you now have tiers of map choices (open, normal, restricted)

New scoring rules come into effect only once the software has been updated to accommodate the changes.

Gambit changes now in effect (piece must be worth 5 points, reinforcements count as zero)
