I like that they've added the maps, and DCI sanctions DD.

I note that **** is "not legal for tournament play at this time", so might they take him off a ways down the road? Personally, I hope not. :?

I guess I need to get out more... Christophsis (Broken) is no longer legal?

Not that I used it much, but I thought it was just approved on the last go around.

yeah I worded it that way in case Rob Re-Errattas him or something changes that we cannot foresee.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I was quite pleased bby the fact that absolutely nothing and I mean nothing changed from my original submission to posting which means I did not screw anything up!!!

That would be correct.

I took it off. Why? Because I thought after seeing it played a lot was unfair. I just found it unbalanced and so I took it off. Sorry if you disagree and if you can prove it too me before the next Floor rule update then do it.... I am open that is why it ended up legal in the first place.

By the way some of the things I want to discuss with folks and look at changing or adding to the floor rules.

1. A Tiebreaker for placing in tourneys (yeah it is a 3rd one but we need it)

2. Some guidelines about how many rounds should be finished in a game... (again guidelines and not minimums)

3. Judges qualifications.... not so much for DCI but we need to get this more effective and better for all those playing the game.

At some point I also want to discuss the legality of Taris. :)

Can I say Yay! GOWK is gone? I'm sad that Christopsis (Damaged) is illegal now as well, I had fun with that map. But I'm sure it was as abusive as dnemiller had said if he saw it being that way. The only imbalance I see is the bridge in the middle. The top and bottom half of the map and access to the middle from the top is okay.

Thanks, Dean! I like all the new maps added, very helpful. Plus DD being official is AWESOME! I could really care less about GOWK, but hopefully this'll stop people from bitching all the time...

And I found it very interesting that Boba BH has been banned from DD. Makes sense, just never really expected it...

Well finally. Any idea why they delayed it a full week for, and then why they said thy wouldn't be official till the 17th?

Thanks, Dean, for working so hard on this for all of us. This game wouldn't be the same without you.

Dean, for your consideration..

For about a year my group has played with these guidelines.
They have resolved the problems we were having with slow players.
[*]Players must keep track of how many rounds played.
[*]If time runs out before a fourth round begins the judge is called to the table.
[*]The judge gives a warning and gameplay continues while the judge monitors.
[*]The goal is for players to complete four rounds, but this is entirely up to the judge.
[*]The Judge can decide when to call the final round at anytime after the clock.

This helps judges know which players to watch closely as potiential slow players.
It also gives judges more of a basis /grounds for disqualifing said slow players.
Example:((The second or third game a particular player didn't make it to round 4 and had to be monitored))

These final rounds are played while other players are taking a break and setting up for next game.
At which time all players get a chance to identify which players might not be playing very quickly.
Plus players are happier knowing there is a potential "save" from being beaten by the clock.
Players don't feel as helpless when they know they should be getting at least 4 rounds of gameplay.

Game of 4 rounds = 15 minutes a round... 4 rounds is bad, but anything less than 4 rounds is criminal.

I will be honest - the most exciting thing for me was seeing Dynamic Duo be official in DCI. Congratulations Boris!

I was honored to hear several mentions of TILE WARS being suggested as perhaps the next fan made format to make the DCI list.

Without a doubt - I would say the first step in the process to possibly making it become DCI official, would be to support the format. One of the best ways to do this is to show up for the TILE WARS tournament at GenCon. As Boris and Jim mentioned, DD having a great turn-out was a big consideration. So come one, come all (kill 'em all!) at Gencon: Friday, August 14th @ 10pm TILE WARS 200 pt tournament.

Great Job ! This FR is far more complete :)

I have a question about DD since we did not play this format in France. The team must be exactly 100 points or can I built a team with less than 100 ? Thx

Dynamic Dou - 100 points exactly and follows faction rules. Players activate one piece at a time.
