Last night we gave the new Imperial Entanglements pieces a spin with a 'Proxy Sealed' event. We had 7 people total.

I ended up running the following for my squad:

Leia BH
Lobot CLO
Whiphid Tracker
Shock Trooper
Veteran Rebel Commando
Rebel Commando Pathfinder
Stormtrooper
Snowtrooper
Duros Scout x2

The pieces I didn't play were a Sandtrooper Commander, Bespin Guard, and 2 Rebel Troopers. While I was excited to have Override, it really sucked because I got Reserves 3 different times throughout the night, and I was never able to bring in more than 2 pieces, because I only had 1 spare Fringe piece. I chose Ruined Base for my map for the night.

First game was against Matt. He was running Luke RC, Bothan Commando, Bacta Tank, Vet RC, 181st Pilot, Ugo Droid Destroyer, Scout Trooper, Snowtrooper Commander, and Snowtrooper. Matt's map was also Ruined Base, so I ended up on the 'outside' of the map. He used the Bacta Tank to make sure he continually got gambit. I used Lobot's Override to get my own safe gambit on the first round. The Pathfinder was really cool for helping pieces get further into the map across the rough terrain. 2nd round, not much happened, a couple shots exchanged, but nothing interesting. 3rd round is where stuff started happening. I managed to take out his Scout Trooper and the Bothan Commando. My Shock Trooper launched a Missles 30 that hit Luke, the Snow Commander, and the Bacta Tank, but they ALL made their saves...grr. Luke based Leia and put 40 on her, and she took some other damage as well, ending up with only 10 or 20 left at the end of the round. I used Lobot to lock the door she was next to and protect her. The next round we traded shots, but not much happened. By the point that time was called, I had finally managed to score about twice as many points in kills as Matt to earn the win. Lobo 1-0

Second game was where it all started to go downhill. I played against Steve who had Palpatine, Logray, Whiphid, Jawa Scavenger, Shock Trooper, Bothan Commando, and 2 Duros Scouts. I lost map and got stuck playing on Death Star. Palpatine camped out in gambit, and with his 25 defense, I could really do much to him early in the game. 2nd round I based Palpatine with Leia hoping to stun him, but I missed the attack and the FP re-roll. Palpatine finished the round by pushing Leia away. Logray corrupted Leia which ended up costing me 20 damage. Leia died without doing anything that game. I picked off some small things, but I knew I wouldn't win without killing Palpatine. I tried to focus on him as best as I could, but Steve was rolling like a mad-man. I was missing shots left and right, and nearly 90% of his rolls were 15 or higher. Palpatine still had 40+ HP left when all my pieces were finally eliminated. Lobo 1-1

Final game was against James, and of course, I lost map roll...again. Death Star...again. Oh, and James got the killer pull of Vader LOTF, Luke RC. So he was playing those two, plus a Scout Trooper and a Vet RC. I honestly should have won this game, but I made a stupid mistake near the end. I played smart early on, getting Recon nearly every round, while still protecting Lobot. Vader killed at least 3 pieces with Grip. Leia single-handedly kept Luke tied up though, as he missed quite a few attacks against her, including a Cunning with a FP re-roll that left her with 30 HP left. The Whiphid pulled off a great Sniper shot with Cunning to kill the Scout Trooper. I made the mistake near the end of the time limit of thinking that the only way I could win was to kill Vader. But I had 40 points of gambit by then, and Vader still had like 100 HP. However, the Vet RC was down to 10 HP, and if I had chased him down instead, I would have won the game. Silly me for not paying attention. There was no way I was going to kill Vader quickly anyway by that point, as I was down to Lobot, the Snowtrooper, the Whipid, and the two Duros, so unless I was winning init, I could barely even touch Vader, and it was going to take probably 5 rounds to finish him off at least. Lobo 1-2

I was OK with the fact that I didn't do so well, because we pulled garbage for prize support anyways. :P The kid who won, Joshua, pulled Arica, and I think Kyp, and had a Twi'lek BSV as well. He probably should have lost his first game, as he was up against an Arica/Lobot squad, but the other player made an error in the first round and lost Lobot right away. The 7th squad (played by StriderRe80) had Rieekan and Kyp, and he actually beat James' Luke/Vader combo in the first round. I'm not exactly sure how he managed that though, as I didn't watch the game. I believe James was still trying to figure out some of the new abilities at that point. StriderRe80 also had a pretty close game against Joshua, but it came down to a few key kills right at the end. Steve had to play against Joshua at the end, and Joshua had enough good damage attackers that he was able to kill Palpatine much quicker than I had been able to.

Very nice. Your title says 150, but looks like you played 120. It looks like both your boosters came to 155 total. Darn you for making me do the math. :P

Did you guys check it out if anyone would have not been able to play 150?

I am also a little happy to see you lost to Vader! lol

Huh? It says 120? Doesn't it? :P

My point total for all 14 pieces was 155 points. The guys who had Arica/Lobot, Arica/Kyp, and Rieekan/Kyp were also right at the 150 point mark.

I think that if we had decided to play 150, that everyone probably could have fielded a squad that reached that limit. The question was whether that made sense, and this what I've come to agree with more. Part of the fun of a sealed event is in trying to decide which pieces you want to play with. If the decision is only "OK, which 1 piece do I drop to get under 150?" then there's really not much strategy involved in that. Dropping the totals down to 120 or 100 forces people to make strategic decisions. Heck, at the 100 point mark, if I'd pulled the Vader/Luke combo that James had, I might've been tempted to not play Vader and just go with Luke and other pieces. I'm not sure exactly what else he had though, so Vader might've still be the best choice. I do think he had a Twi'lek BSV though, so he would've been nasty with Vader's CE. I know James decided he wanted the two Stealth pieces (Scout and Vet RC), but I think he would've been much better off damage wise with the TBSV. Different preferences though I guess.

Regardless, as I've said, I've been convinced that even if you CAN get to 150 points in 90% of the cases, it may not be the most optimal situation for having the most fun with the event. I suspect we'll end up doing 120 against next week for the official release. We'll see.

Nice results, I'm looking forward to the release tourney. I tried to get Matt at YQ to change it to 120, but he insisted that people might get too confused. I might conspire with Madman and see if we can just "throw it under" and make it 120 but still run DCI 100. Cause 120 is a much, much better game than 100. Luke RC is gonna be sick with most commanders (Vader, Thrawn, and Rieekan especially). I'm happy to see that Logray didn't completely suck, since I'm like 90% he's gonna be one I pull (I pulled Juno for TFU Release Tourney, Deena for LotF, Leia for KotOR, and Gha Nachkt for CW).

I beat James by he was a little overconfident that I could not hit Vader at a 27 def. I choose map which was munilist plaza. He set of on the control room side. I started on left side of the map. Of course 3 out of the 4 pieces has stealth and i had no accurate shot. I had Reeken and Kyp, TBSV, Chriss Merc, 2 rebel troopers, stormtrooper, mouse droid and a 181st pilot. I had 10 activations and i don't remember the last one.

Luckly I out activate James. I move down the left side of the map. James open the left side of the door and moved the VRC Luke and Vader out on put them into the room. I moved my pieces into position to see if i get init or not. I win init and i intuition the bothan towrds the far left door but did not open it yet. second activation I got the door open and did a careful deadeye with the bothan. CRIT!!! he misses hit refelct save so 50 damage (forgot about dark armor like I forgot a few evade saves :( ) I moved the TBSV out and rolled a 18 another 30 damage. So right off the bat 80 damage. Moved the mouse droid into gambit. the rest of the peices I moved up to get shots off at the VRC and Luke. I win init and I once again got a careful, deadeye on Vader.

He quickly retreats Vader right ,after he force choks the Chriss, out the door and ageist the wall. I move my pieces up and got a shot off with the 181st and rolled another crit and hit the second shot doing 30 damage to the VRC. He The rest of my peices I moved down the other side.

Next round is were i took on Luke. I open the door and lightning luke with Kyp, shoot with the bothan (he blocked that one) and hit with the TBSV so another 50 damage. He was able to take out my Chriss merc since he was stuck due to mercanary and I think a rebel trooper. Next round he retreats luke now to the outside right of the door. Vader moves up and choks someone else and uses Lukes levitation to move him back.

He wins init (I think for only the second time) and gets cunning off on kyp and kills him. my bothan just moves and takes out luke. by that time I just started advancing on him and he killed the bothan and the storm trooper that was holding the door open but in the end the TBSV finished off vader and the poor scout trooper has no chance.

The crits I had were lucky and since he was not able to reflect them really helped. In the beginning I was very worried but with the Vigo opportunist at a 13 and the bothan with careful at 10 and a bunch on combine fires I was able to pull it out.

The match with Josh I played lowsy and made a few mistakes in the beginning.

Poor Matt he could not hit my mouse droid for nothing. he used the bacta tank as a gambit getter but I was able to get my bothan into gambit the first round too so we were equal.
