Yes, Mr. Ultimate and Mr. Indomitable would make for powerful allies...IF only there was a reliable way to get rid of Savage. Rakghouls could be insanely good in the Mandos and Rebels if only there was a better piece than the Veractyl Wrangler with Empathy.

Even a piece with a CE or SA which removes Savage would be great. I don't know the guy's name, but the Rancor handler from RotJ would be the perfect piece:

Faction: Fringe
Cost: 10
HP: 30
Def: 14
Att: +2
Dam: 10
Unique
Melee Attack
Creature Handler: Allies with Savage lose Savage.

That kind of piece would be just what is needed to make Savages playable with more than just Exar.

Malakili!!

And to think, with your version there, if your opponent is running an Exar squad and has Kreia in there, then you bring in Malakili with Lobot, and then rush straight at Kreia hoping to roll a 1 and take away Exar's CE from all his Savages, lol.

OK, so it would be pretty stinkin' risky, but could be fun if you pulled it off. :P

Even with the Veractyls though, using either Han ST or Mandalore the Ultimate, it's not that terribly difficult on many maps to keep a Veractyl hidden around a corner. You may not be able to use any CEs at the point where the Rak is attacking, but as long as you can gain Charging Fire to get into the fray, you may not need much else.

What about an EPIC level squad with Ulic, Exar, MTU, some Raks and Veractyls (as 500 points is about the only place you'd have enough space to pull it off in a squad, lol). Can use pieces to bodyguard the Veractyls then. :D

No, it doesn't. Read Charging Fire again: you replace your turn to move double speed and make AN attack. You can't use multiple attacks because CF only grants you one attack.

And there is the whole Savage thing.... :)

Headache62 is correct.

You can even check the Archives.. I think I updated Ambush with that note :D

Raks seem like they would be fun to Pawn too. If the new Sidious has Pawn, then Sid+Exar+Raks will be a good squad to experiment with.

I think Rakghouls are very nicely balanced - 16 points seems perfect for what they can do.

I have 12 of them just in case.

I would hope the new Sidious is more interesting than that. I'm not sure what I'm looking for, but I do have very HIGH hopes for somthing amazing.

What about just hiding the rak behind a cloaked char for protection? There are a few options their and unless you run into acurate or sniper you should be set.

Except most competitive squads with a shooter use one with Accurate Shot. :) I suppose bodyguards are always an option, but it seems silly to try to BG a savage piece.. and whenever I use BGs.. I get a flamethrower in the face.
