I vote for the Thursday because many places will be running Friday night sealed KOTOR events. I know there is one going on in Independence, MO that night that I might go to.

I'm ready for some more! I'm past the 1700 mark (or will be after DCI is updated for GenCon), so here I come 1800's!

The 28th or 29th work for me, just give me a heads up on points :D

P.S. If Nickname hasn't gotten around to it by that weekend, I personally wouldn't mind just skipping KotOR pieces :)

I also don't mind making it a Kotor-free event.

I don't know my schedule too well, but Thursday might work best, since I don't know when exactly I'm moving.

Before we can run a KOTOR release, the pics needed to be loaded onto Vassal.

Nickname first needs the KOTOR photo gallery up, I assume that's going to take a few more weeks so we may want to push this back.

I wasn't suggesting anything about the use of KOTOR pieces on vassal. I was voting for Thursday cause there is a LGS holding a KOTOR-sealed tournament on Friday. Having said that, count me in as a person who votes not to allow KOTOR in this vassal tournament, regardless whether the photo gallery is up.

I'd probably be up for a Friday tourney. I'd opt for either 100 or 200 though if we're not going to be using KOTOR pieces. I've had plenty of 150pt games with pre-KOTOR meta for a while. ;)

I could probably make it either night. Will need a new DCI card though (I have a habit of misplacing them... >_<)

For what it's worth, this Friday is the start of a Holiday weekend, so I vote for thur. Also, going forward, I will no longer be available on Fridays most weeks, as work stuff starts up again in two weeks. Thur and Sat are the best days for me most weeks.

And if its thur, sign me up.

First - many thanks to Dean for running these vassal tournaments!!! :D

I may be in a minority here, but I would like some diversity in the vassal events rather than the standard 100, 150, 200 meta squads. For instance, at my LGS, we usually run something that has a tweak to it such as force users only, highlander format, hero hunt, etc.

It would be nice to see some of the better players try something other than Princess Leia, Han Scoundrel, Luke's speeders, Dodonna and Lobot. And, I know that this might make it the dci vassal tournaments more attractive to the casual vassal players.

Just a thought!

No offense, but I don't want to play goofy rules. They are way too out of balance without careful planning and playtesting. About the only two I would even consider would be Tile Wars or Dynamic Duo, but personally, I doubt I would play in either of those as well.

Well, I think sometimes we just don't pay attention to where we are posting sometimes. I mean this is the "Competitive Tourney and DCI/Meta Gaming" section last I looked. This should be where we talk about 100-200 DCI tourneys and anything else in the official floor rules. The Vassal Forum is a great area to talk about the other tourneys and I for one will be first in line for GVL as I am a non-competetive multi player gamer so WOTC loves me. The GFC is great as well it just suffers from Fool Post overload from time to time. :D

I wasn't suggesting a change to rules. I was suggesting squad restrictions that possibly might get the best players (such as yourself) out of their comfort zone. To win, careful squad construction and playing skill will still be necessary to win. I say this because facing the same squads (such as speedy Han and Mando scout squads) is already tiring.

I believe I did post it in the right place. I am talking about DCI tournament with some variety than the standard fare.

I know I am in the minority here because the players are the best in the world and enjoy excelling at the tournaments the way they are built. But IMO, we will attract more players if we played dci tournaments other than the standard 100, 150, 200 from time to time. One doesn't have to contemplate it for very long - simply go to your LGS and ask some former players why they don't play anymore.
