I'm going on vacation from Aug. 18th to the 23rd in the Outer Banks near Avon. I know I'll miss my LGS release event for KotOR but are there any places nearby to play SWM?

Thanks.

My knowledge of SWM tournaments in NC are near and around Charlotte. However, there might be a tournament or a community in Myrtle Beach. I have seen someone ask about that.

Raleigh would be closer to where he will be. Wilson is NE of Raleigh and they have events every now and then. I am trying to find the store managers email addy.

I understand that. Familiar with that area but not to the point of knowing stores.

Consider this independent of the original poster's query.

Does the Fun&Games in Cary or SciFi Genre in Durham do any tournaments?

Fun & Games (might be a different store) used to do SWM games on Sundays. I knew that SciFi Genre wanted to have tournaments but there was an issue with the owner or something.

I was just checking if these groups interract at all.

I play regularly at All Fun and Games in Apex NC. It is very close to Cary (where I live), but it has an Apex address.

We have Monday night leauge play and the monthly Saturday tournament.

I have heard they used to do SWM (I moved to NC in January) but so far I have not heard anything from them. (hmmmm my boss is in a meeting....*picks up phone*) Yeah they dont have anyone that plays there now.

I also play at another shop in Cary NC, Sports Zone. I go there on Wed nights (but not tonight) and play fun games, but I can not get her to hold a sanctioned DCI event. They used to do DCI, but she will not host one for me. Even though some nights I have 7 people in there playing minis. Oh well.

Burlington and Wilson NC also have DCI events with around half a dozen people. The problem with Wilson is they do not post their DCI events on the DCI event finder till the day of the event, so I have only made it there once!!!

Does that help???

Is Wilson the place that seems to have way too much military memorabilia? We had someone from that area when I lived near Charlotte that brought his two sons for the TFU release and said there was too much German WWII memorabilia that it made him unconfortable.

There is The Beholder's Eye last time I went up there (last year after the tragedy). From what I remember its big on D&D but not sure about SWM. Wouldn't mind playing there sometime. Trying to remember its location but it off of the main street off of Tom's Creek and College Ave if I remember correctly.

I do know there is some SWM in Roanoke in Tanglewood Mall-Upper Level (above Cheeburger! Cheeburger!) at about 8pm most Saturdays. There are 2 stores in Roanoke but one isn't big on SWM. They wanted players but it never quite worked out.
