Actually jeff, it would be more efficient for people to just PM Dean their information. So he has it in a more secure and reliable location. Much quicker and safer then you randomly sending a card with info.

Did you advertise at all on the Wizo's boards? Not sure if you wanted to or not. Online stuff in general has been very slow lately though. I don't know if it's because it's summer and people are travelling or what the deal is.

Sorry to say, but this feels about right to me for the number of people I have seen logged in this month. I would say with the short notice you would only get 16 if you advertised it on WIZO or Vassal. If I were you I wouldn't even count 8 as we don't have a date or time established yet so some of those could end up not being able to play.

6 pm Central would make it 5 Pm Eastern for me, correct? If this is happening Friday, then I can't do it, since I won't be home from work until close to 8, 7:30 at the earliest. How ever Saturday works perfectly for me, as I am free all day (other than arranging anniversary things for me and my girlfriend, 3 years, woo!)

Sorry to say, Friday is now going to be bad for me as well. That damned job thingy, that interferes with my real life, has me flying out of town tomorrow morning, and flying back in red eye tomorrow night. I would really love to do this, support the site and Deans experiment, plus learn how actual tourney play works, but Saturday will be better this go around.

I'd love to play but I work evenings. Technically I can play Vassal on my computer, but I'd probably have to interrupt the game a couple times to talk to my interviewers and this computer freezes on Vassal all the time =o/ Would probably be too much of a pain and might annoy whoever I'm playing. If it was during the day I'd be all over it. Very unique idea...

Saturday night would be great; or later Friday night... Something came up for me so I wont be able to get on -on Friday- until at least 9:00 EST. Saturday; any time in the evening (past 7-8) would be great ^_^

Well, I can only do it Friday night at 8PM Central or later. Any other time is out of the question for me this weekend. So if that works better for everyone else, then do it and count me out. Otherwise, just let me know what we are gonna do.

Also Matt said he would do it Friday as well, but he is also busy Sat night with me. Going to see Carbon Leaf, one of my favorite bands!!!

Anyway, Friday night anytime is all I got this weekend. Any other time I am out. I fear Dean, that if you don't just pick a time and go with it the tourney is DOOMED.

Neat idea. I would shoot for 8 players and consider that quite a success.

I would love to do it on a weekend morning or afternoon (I'm PST so 2-3 hours behind you guys) with a tiny bit more notice. If it gets a following, I'd also be happy to judge it for you sometimes so you can play.

I think the VASSAL time effect will be your biggest issue. Luckily, judge can set time so you'll be able to fudge it to get it just right after you see if games are able to finish.

On Vassal you told me 6 central, but whatever. i was planning on watching numbers, but I can tape it.

Through Friday works at the forementioned time.

Rusk eastern is like 1 hour later than central not earlier.

Put me in if you can .LoboStele is going to help me get started.

Great idea, Dean! I'm totally in for this, but I'm afraid I might be a few minutes late. I have a soccer game at 7:00pm EDT, and it will end around 8:30pm, which will put me home @ 9:00pm or maybe a bit earlier. So I'll definitely be around, but depending on the game starting on time and traffic I could be late by up to 10 mins. I'm not sure what the DCI rules are for late players, but if necessary, I'll take a loss for my first round pairing if I sign on to Vassal after 9pm EDT (8pm CST).
