Alrighty then, so Legacy has been out for a few weeks, and I was wondering what people think the top squads are right now at each point value. I personally think that there are several but I think that a discussion of what is out there would be beneficial to everyone on these boards. I don't think I am qualified to make the judgment call on it though and if you would all post them I know it would help me. I will keep the thread pretty up to date as far as editing my own post to reflect the squads mentioned. If you post the squads in the squad critique forum I will also attempt to link them so that we can jump straight to a description of a particular squad. Hope everyone can jump on board with this and we can have a helpful database of top tier squads.

100
Hunting Season
Bane
Exar+ugs
Broken Boba

150
Swiss Army Knife
Speedy Cannon
San Hill
New Hoopdie
Han Turret

200
NR Triple Threat
San Hill Triple Threat
Loda Control Squads
Black and Blue Commando's Stealth
Vong Squads

200
Black and Blue Commando's Stealth http://swmgamers.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2891

For 100 add:

--Hunting Season-- viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2840
21 Yuuzhan Vong Shaper
60 Yuuzhan Vong Jedi Hunter x3
8 Wicket
5 Caamasi Noble
6 Ugnaught Demolitionist x2
(100pts. 8 activations)

I'd add the following under 150:

--Speedy Cannon-- viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3001
46 Han Solo, Scoundrel
45 Luke's Snowspeeder
20 Princess Leia
9 General Dodonna
8 Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Spirit
8 R2-D2
5 Caamasi Noble
9 Ugnaught Demolitionist x3
(150pts. 10 activations)

Also, does anyone think that there is a current competitive Sith build? Fingers Caedus squad looks very solid.

I played a variant of this on Sunday (Bothan Noble, Ugo Tech instead of Leia and Caamasi) and it did OK (haven't had time to post the report, hopefully tomorrow) but I had trouble against the following squad:

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3190
Luke Landspeeder
Han Scoundrel
Lando DS
Dodonna
Lobot
Ugo

This seemed pretty solid to me, as a San Hill type squad, but with 3 fairly powerful attackers, and all of them having Mobile. Plus, the Landspeeder counts as having a Lightsaber, so it whooped up on my Snowspeeder.

Oh, and San Hill still deserves a place:

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3191
San Hill
Boba BH
Aurra JH
Lobot
Ugo x3

updated Request: Lobo if you could be so kind as to place those squads in the critique area it would have a place for specific squad comments. And would provide me with a nice title and link:p

Just so you know, the Speedy Cannon squad is a 150, not 200. ;)

After some careful consideration I have decided to revisit this topic:

100 pt Squads:

Speeder Cannon (Lukes Landspeeder, 3x Bothan Nobles)
Hunting Season
Bane +ugos
Seek and Destroy (Boba BH, R2 Astro, JWM, ugo)

150 pt Squads:

SaK
San Hill
Speedy cannon
New Hoopie
Vong *Jedi Hunter centered, exact build not pinned down*

200 pt Squads:

Black And Blue Super Stealth

New Republic triple thread
(Han, Mara, Kyle, Dodonna, Lobot, 5x ugo)

Speratist Triple Threat
(Aurra JH, Tyranus, Boba Merc, San Lobot 5x ugo)

Rebel Cannon builds
(too many varients, but expect lots of Bothan Nobles)

Boba, King of the Vong
(Boba Merc, 3x Vong Jedi Hunters, Shaper, Advance Scout x1, Kel Dor BH, Ugo x 5 Lobot for MTB)

Anything I'm missing?

I kinda think we should just be honest with ourselves start calling the "NR Triple Threat" the "Tri-Force."

Hi Gamers,

Down Under, my local scene play 200pt games as the norm. Is it just me or are Teir 1 200pt squads more or less 150pt squads with more filler?

____Cannons,
BB SS
Tri Force( I like the new label)
Swiss Army Knife
SAN Triple Threats
Hunting Season
etc etc etc

The only squads that I see being unique(for want of a better word) to 200pt squads would be swarm squads like super troopers, Ithorian swarms and JWM's , but again these can be played at lower pt formats. So is there a Teir 1 200pt squad that hasn't previuosly existed as a 150pt squad?

I've never played it myself but seen it played by at least 3 different people on Vassal:

Han, GH 50
Mara Jade, Jedi 45
Lobot 27
Kel-Dor 13
General Dodonna 9
Ug x2

Reinforcements are usually MTB Engine or Wicket and Ugs.

Very nice build. Has temp control with Dodonna, door control with the Ugs, CE control with Disruptive, init control with NTMTO and possibly TB. You do rely heavily on init and going first, so it is possible to get messed up after you've already activated Mara and Han. If you face a heavy Opportunist squad you may run into problems. Better hope Han can make his Evade saves if he's going against Evo Troopers under Veers and Piett...

That's the variation of the Mara Jedi 150 NR squad that used to be on the list just after Legacy was released.
Unfortunately it's proven not the be able to hold up against some of the current top 150 Speedy cannon just rips it apart when in good hands as i've watched it happen.

It was taken off the list altogether? It's a rock/paper/scissors scenario, and absolutely deserves to stay on there. In the very first Vassal DCI tourney, I played that exact squad and I beat two Speedy Cannon squads (run by Billiv15 and I believe the other one was Ruhk). The game against Bill was VERY close and all dice roll based, but we both had ridiculous dice rolls, so it wasn't like it was all in one person's favor (though I missed several key shots early on that would've made a big difference). Sure, there are always things that a squad is going to struggle against, but doesn't mean it should come off the list of top squads completely. I've run the Speedy Cannon squad myself on several occasions, and have had my butt handed to me as well, so it's not completely infallible either.

Wondering whether Speedy Cannon still holds up with the change to Ion Gun (now affects units with Mounted Weapon too). Jawas and Elite Rebel Commandos could prove to be a bit of a threat... though they do have a hard time hitting the speeder without a lot of help.
