Legacy of the Force release event
Sunday, March 30 1-5pm @ HobbyTown USA
5316 N. Hamilton Road Columbus Ohio 43230
(east side of Columbus just north of Morse Road on Hamilton next to the Home Depot)

We will be having a release event featuring a minis draft tournament starting at 1:00pm. We will draft figures (details below) and play however many rounds it takes to determine the winner. Prize support will be included in the entry fee. Discounted boosters may be available this day as we are working with the store manager to determine the release event price.

Trading and free-style gaming will be after the release tourney until about 5:00pm. We are a pretty casual group of mostly collectors. If you plan to be there, please shoot me a PM so we can better plan. Of course, you are always welcome to just show up and bring your friends.

Basic format of the draft is outlined below:

Basically it works like this, everyone that comes pays $15 (when everyone gets there, we can raise this a couple dollars for more prize support depending on the number of participants) and gets one booster, but they do no open it until the draft starts. For this example I will use 8 players. The players are then broken into two groups of 4 and the draft begins. Grouping keeps things fair for all players involved so that the minis are spread out better. Groups should consist of 3 or 4 players, no more, no less. The only exception would be if only 5 players showed up, then a 5 player group would be necessary. In some situations, it may be necessary to have two groups of 3 and one group of 4.

Roll a D20 to determine who goes first, second, third, fourth in each group. Once the draft order is set players then open their boosters, dump the contents on the table, and select one miniature at a time until all minis are selected from that group. The Draft order would flip-flop like this:

GROUP 1

ROUND ONE
Player 1 picks one mini (probably a R/VR)
Player 2 picks one mini (probably a R/VR)
Player 3 picks one mini (probably a R/VR)
Player 4 picks one mini (probably a R/VR)

ROUND TWO
Player 4 picks one mini (probably the best uncommon still available)
Player 3 picks one mini
Player 2 picks one mini
Player 1 picks one mini

ROUND THREE
Player 1 picks one mini (probably the best uncommon still available)
Player 2 picks one mini
Player 3 picks one mini
Player 4 picks one mini

ETC.

GROUP 2 would do the same thing

Once the draft is complete players can now build up to a 100 point squad (no faction).

FYI:

We’ve worked out these discounts with Hobbytown for Sunday’s tournament.

10% off all LotF boosters
LotF cases for $138.99 (normally, full retail is $179.88)
25% off all old SWM stock (includes R&I starter set, AoE Map Pack, A&E boosters and TFU boosters)

We will be purchasing one case with your $15 entry fee for the tournament that will be used for the draft tourney.

All extra cash will be used towards purchase of prize support. We hope to give two boosters for 1st place, one booster for 2nd place. Third place through last place will be eligible for remaining prize support, draft style until support is gone.

Additional Prize Support to be available:
Previous month’s league kit contents
