I brought to the local 150 point tournament a WFF swarm squad which was constructed like this
Rebel Leader
Princess Leia Hoth Commander
R2-D2
5x Mon Cal Tech Specialists
6x Wookie Freedom Fighters

I knew there was one piece that would be REALLY hard to deal with, Loda, but until this week I had been the only one to play Loda, and I had mixed results, so I didn't think it would be a problem.

Round 1 vs Jon B86

He was playing Princess Leia, LODA Chewbacca with C-3P0, 2-1b, and some ugnaughts.

Well he was sitting in the corner not wanting to engage so I sat in gambit on the coruscant map. Finally he had what he thought was enough force points and ran in. I rushed him with all my wookies, and met with lots of lightsaber reflects. He won 5 straight initiatives during the course of the engagement, and it finally came down to a Luke who had been hit for 100 and was out of force points, with 2-1b, against a full Freedom Fighter, 10 hp Rebel Leader, 5 mon cal Techs. I lost another initiative making it 6 in a row. Dead Rebel Leader Healed luke up. Game ended with him killing off my pieces one at a time.

Game 2 vs Greg Falter

Shaak Ti + 2-1B + ugos + LODA Similar story this time on the Chancellor's Starship map. I killed all but Luke + 2-1b, and was still ahead in points going into the last round, but he killed R2 to take the lead, and then we both gained gambit.

Game 3. vs Rodney Eigenraugh

he was playing Luke HPU, Princess Leia, Han Solo Scoundrel, and Obi wan unleashed with R2 D2 and a mon cal. I sacrificed a WFF in order to kill his r2-D2 on round 2, and locked myself in the gambit room. He didnt know how to handle it and proceeded to stall his approach for several rounds allowing me to gain gambit. It ended with me having lost 1 tech spec and 2 wookies, and him having only Luke, HPU remaining.

In short my squad preformed exactly like I thought that it would, Unfortunately I faced the one piece twice Early that I knew would be very difficult for me to defeat. You can't win them all, and in my case lately you can't win any of them :P I have got to break out of this losing streak!

Upon further review I have found that I accidentally placed this in the Vassal forum, can a friendly member of the Sith Praxeum please move this thread to where it belongs?

Nice work. In both of those first two games, I probably would've done my best to go after 2-1B, since he's only got 30 HP and a low defense. I'm guessing your opponent must've kept him well-hidden enough to not be able to get to him though. A shame that you had to pull such unfortunate matchups. Although, without counter pieces like that, the WFFs would be devastating, so everything balances out. :P

BTW, moved the thread to the right spot. :D

Yeah I did my best to get after 2-1B, and I made a rules mistake, I thought characters could only make one AoO per phase, instead of per turn. It really didnt matter as I made the save when that particular freedom fighter was defeated. 2-1B almost always had Loda between him and my Wookies.
