your DCi score?!?!?!

Are you talking about DCI rating????

I am confused by your statement......

I meant DCI rating. I was thinking that you get points added to your DCI rating equal to the amount of points you score in each DCI game.

My God, if this were true, Dean's score would be off the charts for a mathematician!!!!

Sorry, I really don't know much about how exactly the DCI ranking system works.

You start at 1600 and then every time you win you gain point and every time you lose you lose points. The amount gained or lost is based on how close to your opponants rating your rating is. A couple months ago the place I play started running sanctioned games so we all had equal ratings of 1600 that night. Every game won that night added 8 points to our ratings and each loss subtracted 8 points from it. I'm not 100% sure but I think 16 points is the most you can gain from beating a much higher ranked player and or losing to a much lower ranked one. Beating a lower ranked player or losing to a higher ranked one will raise or lower your rating by a smaller amount.

I'm looking through my entire DCI History, and I found one spot where I beat #2 in the State, and it gained me 11 points. One time I lost 10 points because of a certain TOOL from Dean's store, the one he keeps talking about. The next time I beat #2, I gained 13 points. Losing to Dargo in the first round of Gencon cost me 11 points. Another 11 point hit a few months ago. A loss to Mr. Dean is worth a whole 2 points, lol!

And that is a silly history of my DCI ups and downs! John Otte, you owe me 11 points. I'm hunting you down this year!

No that would be 17 points...... I know that from over 2 years of DCI play.... but other than that Homer you are spot on

Not too bad for a guess based on the 8 points for playing an equally rated player. I'm surprised by the fact that there's a rating difference big enough to result in a zero point gain or loss. I figured at the worst you'd get 1 point for a win.

I just went up 22 points for my 150 point tourny win on Friday. That bumped me from #13 to #10 in the state. Granted, there's only 47 people listed in total for the state, but its still nice.
