Jake and I are both dependent on work schedules allowing room, but we are really trying to make it work.

For what it's worth, neither Jake nor myself will be participating in X-Wing (regardless of when it is). I mention this because there was some talk of swapping the two events. Hope this doesn't happen.

It's a fun game. You could borrow some of my ships if you'd like. It's actually pretty easy to learn, if you'd like me to teach you at some point prior to the event.

Appreciate the offer. I feel like I've seen enough (and played just a little) to know it's not for me. To me Star wars is the characters. I've never been into dogfights. I get so annoyed when they have thorough descriptions of them in Star Wars books, I'm always like, "yeah, yeah - get back to the story". I am the type that is "all in" or not at all. After careful personal cost/benefit analysis, I chose not at all. Even after winning Slave I and Millenium Falcon at GenCon, it's just not for me. I'm glad people like it, but my time is too precious to play a game I'm not really into. :)

I will be posting the full event details today for FrostyCon. Although there will be changes to the schedule, I believe the revised line up will accommodate everyone's tastes.

Thanks for the offer of putting us up! Since we'll only be able to play in the Saturday day event, I should tell you that my son Kris, like Tim and Jake, doesn't have any interest in X-Wing. If it is X-Wing that day it will just be me.

What are the rules for King of the Ring? I've never played that one before. 4 characters...are they all on the board at once, or do they need to be deployed 1 at a time?

If I remember correctly, all 4 have to be Hobbits, and the map is huge.

I wish the Ring had never come to me....

Bear with me gang, I have been stricken down hard with the flu and composing this brief note is challenging for me. This is a bad bug!

By the power of the Z-pack, I'm getting back on my feet. In my fever induced delirium it occured to me that the one way to accomodate the entire group's interest would be to do the following....

Fri Night: King of the Ring
Sat PM: X-wing 100 in Rochester
Sat Night: SWM 200
Sun AM: Epic 500

All of the SWM events will be held at Chez Russell. The XW event has to be moved to Sat, as the LGS cannot accomodate the space on Sunday. However if there isn't enough interest from the OoT players in XW, I'd plan on the 200 at my house on Saturday.

Any schedule is fine with me. All I know is that I'm showing up on Friday afternoon/evening and leaving on Sunday evening, and that I'll be having a blast with good games and good friends in between! Thanks for all the work you're putting into this, Gerry.

I'd still like to know the format for King of the Ring on Friday night, though. I can wait until you're feeling better, of course, but I would like to get to work with squad-building for that event.

If I can remember correctly. It's 4 figures, normal faction rules apply. It's an 8x8 arena?
CE's are risky to put in because its random as to what figure of yours will be in the ring first.
So if your commander gets to go out there first, then gets pummeled to death before your follower gets to jump in the ring. It's not unheard of because I did a risky squad last year. But then again I did lose that event.

The way I look at it now is take 4 strong figures and hope for the best with dice.

A roll of a die decides which player (Tim, me, Gerry, yourself) puts a piece in each round. And another roll of a die deciding what figure of yours is put in.

I think that's the way it works, someone plz say otherwise if I'm wrong.
