So the new Luke and Yoda is mostly spoiled. Is it competitive?

It has low damage and sort of low defense for a 70 point piece. Yet, this piece will dominate force powers with the ability to cancel every turn.

What do you think?

Too early to tell. We don't have the full wording of Push 3, not too sure what Master of the Force he has, and don't know what else the Rebels are getting. Still, looks to be a fun piece.

MotF 3 I would be willing to bet.

Also, this figure will be competitive at the very least at 200. At 150 it will depend on what you can build with them.

At 200
Luke and Yoda
Ackbar
Han Rogue
Droids
Princess Leia
And another attacker - Chewy RH, Obi Wan, Obi U, Redeemed Apprentice, etc.

Dont need a ton of damage with all that these figs can do.

What you guys comparing them to Luke CotF and Yoda are forgetting is the usefulness of Stun on a char that can attack, as well as lightsaber reflect with motf3 and fr3. wasting an activation with yoda when you lose init hurts. These guys have other options. Reflect is deadly to shooters. This guy straight up beats Boba BH barring a crit everytime. How many figures can you say that for?

Speaking of Luke and Yoda vs. Boba Fett, BH...

If Boba fails the save when his shot is Reflected, can he evade the damage?

Nope....evade only works against attacks. Doesn't work against damage caused by Special Effects. It's not really Boba's shot being reflected. It's just damage being assessed due to Reflect.

Thanks.

I wouldn't call luke+yoda competative yet. It's just too early to tell, and there are so many rebels that are not yet known that could be awesome with him. ( han, obi-wan, the Redeemed Apprentice ect )

The only bad thing about him is he cannot share his amazing amount of Force with anyone else.

Why? Luke only gains Mettle then, as he already has Renewal. I guess Mettle would be fun on re-rolls of attacks or saves though.

Unless he was referring to the original Obi-Wan's Force Spirit 8. Tack on an extra 8 FP and Yuke won't be running out of FP for a very long time.

I prefer the moniker "Loda" :) Time to put that into action. Soon you shall witness the power of this fully operational battle statio..... I mean WotC poster.

Oh duh...that makes more sense. Man, that would be a lot of Force points, lol.

Wait if Mettle stacks.....then he'll NEVER miss an attack.

(I can't remember)[/quote]

Yep, Mettle does stack, but what if he's attacking Revan? 13 attack vs 25 defense. Roll once, 12 or more to hit. Roll again with Mettle, 8 or more. With Mettle 2x, 4 or more. With Mettle 3x, anything but a one....oh wait, he could still miss (unless of course, he still has more FPs to use, lol). :P

Actually, mettle does stack, so that may be very good with this Luke. As hard as it is to roll a reflect save, it may very well be what makes him playable. Not to mention Luke/Yoda can defense against anyone trying to cancel out Obi.

Do we need a poll for this? 1 Vote so far :)

Looks like he's going to work out to be a finesse piece and a good counter to a lot of squads. 70 is expensive though so 150 will have to be a creative build. He'll almost never get hit and almost always do 40 damage a round. Not bad at all; he should be the last to drop every game....

I didn't think of either of those. Wow!

I've been thinking of a squad using L&Y for 200, although to be honest, I haven't completely figured out what to use in the last 39 points.

L&Y 70
Princess Leia 20
Juno Eclipse 8
Obi-Wan FS 8
Kazdan Paratus 55

I'm considering going with Han ST, Han RH, Ackbar, or maybe Chewie RH.

Of course, if Kota's CE didn't have the Fringe restriction for Followers, I'd probably run him instead of Kazdan, but the basic idea is that Obi-Wan hooks up with L&Y, who using Leia's CE tears through the enemy. Meanwhile, Kazdan is bringing in a %#$@ load of droids, such as the BGD/Junk Golem/Destroyer Droid/Medical Droid, and having them back up L&Y and putting a Droid Mark on them.

I'd recommend going with either Ackbar or a Rebel Trooper on Tauntaun then, so you get the Recon.

Luke is definitely going to be an interesting piece, as I don't really see squads being built around him, per se. He's not really a center-piece, like Exar Kun. He's more like just one piece of the pie, and each of the pie pieces are about equal, and all are needed to complete the whole thing.
